This was such a lovely experiece! Great beds, clean room, hot shower, lovely staff, thermal pools and an armadillo hopping about in the garden... There were also some nice short hikes/trails to waterfalls on the property. It is however (considering the distance to the hot springs and some of the trails) very convenient to have a car with you when you stay at Guacipelin. We did not feel that the prices in the restaurant were extremely high: a pasta goes between 12-18 USD and a pizza (the best we've had outside of Italy!) is around 12 USD. The nearest soda (a 13 minute drive) charges a bit less for food, but the difference it not that much.

Set in a tropical rainforest with natural mineral green hot spring pools and botanical gardens, Blue River offers luxury cabanas in Costa Rica. There is a swimming pool and free Wi-Fi.
