Fantastic place to stay for anyone wanting to experience the magic of the Merzouga desert. The hotel perfectly combines comfort, excellent service, and great value for money, making it a perfect choice for travellers. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and immaculately clean, providing a restful retreat after a day of exploring the desert. The hotel serves delicious, authentic Moroccan food that highlights the rich flavours of the region. The meals are fresh and tasty, and guests can enjoy them in a lovely setting. One of the standout features of Berber Palace Merzouga is the stunning swimming pool, which offers a refreshing escape from the desert heat. The hotel also has a beautiful terrace with panoramic views of the iconic Merzouga dunes and the surrounding mountains—an ideal spot to relax and watch the sunset. For those looking to make the most of their desert experience, Berber Palace offers a range of activities, including camel treks, desert tours, and cultural experiences, all led by knowledgeable and friendly locals. I highly recommend this hotel for its great hospitality, and it’s the perfect base for exploring the unique beauty and adventure of Merzouga.

Staying at the camp next to the 250m dune was something else! The ovation doesn’t get any better. You can climb it any time you want and it’s literally right there, while people from other camps have to either drive, ride or walk to it. It takes roughly 20-50 minutes to climb it (depending on your fitness level and which way you walk up, it’s faster and easier to walk up the spines) from this camp. Whereas if you’re staying somewhere farther you’ll add at least one more hour to it, and that’s just to reach it one way. Seriously, best camp location you could get. They also have some old boards you can use for free to sand boarding your way down from the dune which was super fun. The camp itself is amazing, such a nice cozy and relaxed vibe, with cats strolling around and beautiful trees and bushes. It really is an Oasis. The tents were way better than what the photos on the page look like, they were super comfy and rustic, and outside the tents you have a bed you can lie on and watch the stars at night. The beds inside the tent was very comfortable. We slept well. It can get loud at night from music from the other camps, if you want to go to sleep early to catch the sunrise from the top of the dune, but nothing that some earplugs can’t fix. The toilet was also very clean. Mustafa was very hospitable and sweet. He made us lovely Moroccan tea, and cooked us a tasty (vegan) meal, which was absolutely massive (rice, sautéed vegetables, bread and tagine of potatoes, courgettes, tomatoes, carrots, herbs and spices) and we could take it with us the next day for our very long car ride to our next destination. He also played some live music at night with us and we got to play percussion, sing and jam together which was very pleasant. On our check out morning his mother made us back at their home/office a very tasty (vegan) breakfast of tea, msemen, olives, strawberry jam, fruit and juice.
