This was my favorite place we stayed in all of Iceland. The room was amazing, the bathroom spectacular, the view unbelievable. In the morning the breakfast was by far the best breakfast we had. INCREDIBLE

The location is amazing, the cabin was bigger, better equipped and cozier than we'd imagined, and the owner is kind and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent as well. Totally worth it.

The guesthouse is very beautiful and the location feels quite magical. The city of Hofn is just a few minutes' drive away as well as the Viking village. Inga is an excellent host, very warm, welcoming and informative. There was a weather warning around our travel time and she reached out to us with detailed instructions, information resources and some great advice. The stay felt like an authentic Icelandic experience. Inga even took us to meet her beautiful horses before we left. The room is a great size, super comfortable and very well equipped. The toilet is not ensuite but down the hallway, it still felt very private and convenient. We were served a very hearty and delicious breakfast before we checked out. We felt right an home and wish our stay could have been longer.

We like everything about the house. We managed to see aurora during our stay at REY Stays - Great!!! Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean. Facilities are provided as advertised. Definitely will stay here if ever we come back to Hofn. Strongly recommended for anyone.

We love the cleanliness of the property. Shoes to be taken off before entering the living space. Toilets are shared but kept very clean. Kitchen are fully equipped for us to prepare our meals.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage by the sea. I call it a "cottage" because (in my mind) instead of an "apartment" it seems to describe this freestanding lodging (with no other lodging nearby) better to me. This two bedroom, living room, dinning/kitchen, bath (with washing machine) was perfect for the 3 of us. There was plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped for space. As you approach the cottage, the area looks a bit industrial but don't let that put you off. Once you see the sign "Apartment by the Sea" you feel like you are in a time gone by. The cottage offers privacy, with an unbelievable view of the sea dotted with islands. On a calm morning it is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. We even spotted a seal taking a morning swim. There are several lovely restaurants within walking distance and the town has some shops and walking trails to enjoy. This town doesn't feel touristy but rather authentic Iceland. The owner met us at the apartment with the key and answered our questions.....as he was at the shop next door.....that was a surprise bonus.... the owners also own and operate a lovely boutique shop connected to the cottage giving 20% discount to renters. The building is a historic fishing processing site and built to withstand the strong winds common in this area. There are pictures inside of the original use of the building...oh, what would those fishermen think now. We loved this town and this lodging and highly recommend it.
