Had wonderful two days with Koya Kayaki. The host and hostess are so welcoming and they invited me to a bbq dinner when I just arrived and it was so delicious! The room itself is clean, beautiful and contains everything needed, especially different kind of drinks in the refrigerator (even though I usually drink water only). Besides, Kunihiro-san also prepares great sandwich for breakfast. Thanks so much :)

This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

In the Kannawa Onsen district of Beppu, close to Yukemori Observatory, OMOLOSO Hostel　オモロソウ ホステル features a garden and a washing machine.

I stayed overnight, what I cannot forget, and probably will not for next years, are their quality of Food on both days and the scene excites you during your dining and stay. I would say no one can dislike the unique calming view of Yufuin, vocanic sceneries, steams all around village, and snows on the peak and most of Bamboos !
