Kasane is a convenient gateway for Chobe safaris, but in terms of accommodation, the variety is quite limited and not as refined as what you'll find in nearby destinations. It was easy to get around and we were able to get everything we needed. The boat trip on the Chobe River was unforgettable with the river crossing of the elephants and the sun going down! We also visit the Chobe Game Reserve and were able to see many lions, Kudu, impalas and a leopard!!! We did the early morning game drive and visitors must remember to dress warmly! It is lovely on the open vehicles, but it is very cold!!!! We would love to visit again, but most of the roads are in a terrible condition.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Kasane is a good place to stay if you want to visit the incredible Chobe national park. It is a very small town, rather a village, with a few restaurants and supermarkets. The town itself is perhaps not very charming but the tours provided here are excellent and you can travel individually and book the tours. Kasane is the gateway to Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls is one hour away. After visiting large cities, Kasane was relaxing and easy to maneuver. So much so, that I mistakenly ended up at the Zambia gate and had to explain myself. I was surprised that there weren’t more touristy souvenirs in the stores. There are plenty of vendors though on the Main Street. I coordinated game drive, sunset cruise and round trip ride to Victoria Falls, through Iswiza Travel Agency. They were very helpful. For the game drive, I opted for a solo drive, and Sinka, my guide was worth the extra that I paid. The Travelodge was a great choice for us as it was a reasonable price while also being less than 5 minutes from the entry to the national park.
