The bed was luxurious. The shower was great. Great coffee. We saw 3 of the available rooms and all were awesome. Very big, very nicely decorated. Finishings were all good. Heating was good as well.

A real spanish experience, in a great atmosphere. We arrived late from Madrid airport but the host waited for us. The hotel is located near the city center square, where you can find a lot of restaurants. Super delicious breakfast. Dogs welcome!

The design of hotel was unexpectedly perfect, I was impressed of this combination of antique and avant-garde. Room, bathroom, air-condition, interior of the room, equipment, all things were perfect. And staff were also very friendly

Almagro is a historical city with a 16th century feeling.

Almagro is a historical city with a 16th century feeling. Get lost walking its small streets (like Calle de las Bernardas). Enjoy its warm people, their traditions (like Las Cruces in May), their excellent wine (both white and red), and food (Manchego cheese or lomo de orza at the Restaurante de las Murallas). Spend time in the main square (Plaza Mayor) and visit the Corral de la Comedia (a historical theatre that competes with Shakespeare's Globe).

Sadly, I wasn't able to stay in Almagro for very long. It was an overnight stay as part of a longer trip. My general impressions are that you could spend a couple of days there, possibly longer, exploring the town and its surroundings. The main square is interesting, with its historic town hall and a first floor 'balcony' which stretches almost its whole border. Also in the main square is a good selection of restaurants and tapas bars. Almagro is very 'walkable', and flat. From my hotel, a steady wander took me around a lot of it in a couple of hours. One thing I would say is that Almagro is a little off the beaten track, and as such is very Spanish. If you make the effort to learn some of the language (which is a useful tip for anywhere), it will enhance and make your visit a lot easier. In my time there I didn't hear any language other than Spanish being spoken.

We had no expectations of this hotel, it was a one night stay en-route elsewhere but we were all very pleased with this parador and would definitely put it on our list for future stays. Lovely facilities close to a fantastic Plaza Mayor in the town that was amazing with very atmospheric bars and restaurants.

A delightul, historical town. Enthusiastic guide of the town with the open theatre and church having QR codes so the information can be downloaded in English. Fascinating private museum of trades historically carried out in the town. Guided tour of local winery given by the owner. Easy to drive to the windmills of La Mancha or to Ubeda and Baeza.

The town had little going for it and town restaurant food was quite ordinary. I am still wondering why I booked to stay here for four nights! The large original 500 yo windmills were an hour and a half away(my bad). The local special garnacha wine I thought I’d find was very, very scarce.

Almagro is located near to the main E-5 road south, so convenient for a stopover on route to Costa del Sol. The Plaza Mayor is often featured on FB pages as a top place to visit. There are a few bars and gift shops under two-storey accommodation. Worth a visit if you like this sort of thing - but no need to stay too long. We ate at Abrasador Restaurante (just off the Plaza Mayor) which was only average in food quality and service. Our Hotel, Retiro del Maestre (which was very good) recommended Restaurante El Corregidor, and maybe we should have gone there. Having visited Almagro once, we would not dash back as there are plenty more places to visit on our travels.

This is a very nice hotel. The room was a good size and very quiet. The location is very central and easy to find. There is a car park close by and parking is available on the same street as the hotel. The decor is very elegant and exudes an air of luxury. The swimming pool is of a good size and is very pleasant. There is also a chillout area by the pool in the shade. Only 6 sunbeds are available, however, they are very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.

This is a fantastic hotel and everything we were looking for. We felt blessed and then we went to bed. The view of the hotel changed unfortunately, as the noise from every room on our floor could be heard. We heard phone alerts, conversation and toilet noises. To top it all, someone came it around 3am and was so noisy they may aswell have been in our room. The only reason we wouldn't stay here again is the noise and lack of sleep.

Hotel with real character. The hosts were lovely. Very welcoming and offered us a choice of two rooms. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Our room had a kitchenette with fridge, tea and coffee. Easy parking outside. Great location. We enjoyed it more than staying in the Parador previously
