I enjoy getting far away from the tourist crowds when I travel to the islands, especially to see the people of the land and their way of life. Lautoka is an awesome place to get an insight of the beautiful Fijian culture, its people and community, and the real Fiji. Not much of a tourist vibe, nice to see the real Fijian side of the island. People very friendly but taxis happy to charge more than they should. Landers Bay is set in a very quiet isolated location, a taxi is required to visit anywhere but well worth it. The accommodation was lovely and the beach, bar, restaurants were a minutes walk from our room. A great place to unwind and just relax. Lautoka is thriving hustling busy town with everything you need. Great clothes shops and the markets are good also. Not much to see in Lautoka besides the markets and shops. If I had any questions, I was always able to contact them and my extra requests were always taken into account (for example, breakfast was prepared a little bit earlier for me and I was taken to another port in Lautoka to take the ferry to the Yasawa Islands).
