The stay at Battery Valley Farm was excellent. It was a unique experience for us. It is an active farm located not far from the town of Albert. The place offers cozy and pleasant rooms and a breakfast that includes farm-fresh ingredients. We arrived with only one day to visit the monuments and museums dedicated to the Battle of the Somme and were quite confused about how to plan our day. We received a lot of help from Mireille, the owner, who is a great expert in tourism in the area. Mireille presented us with the available options and helped us organize our visit. The farm is in an excellent location for those who want to explore the region's history during World War I. Thank you, Mireille, Frederic, Stark, and Simon. We hope to meet you again. Rima and Ilan

We decided somewhat late to include a stop on our way to Normandy and Bretagne. We had no idea what to expect and had vague knowledge of what happened in WW1. Our stop opened our eyes to both the region and its history. The apartment is right in the center of Albert and an unexpected gem!!! It has everything you need and more, even a small garden to have a drink in the evening. Well equipped kitchen (there's even a washing machine) and a great bathroom with an independent toilet (always a plus). We left with appetite for more, and we definitely will come back. The museum across the street paints a haunting picture of what it was like 110 years ago.

Close to WW1 sites and the town of Albert.

Close to WW1 sites and the town of Albert. A number of places to eat in Albert, tourist information office difficult to find at first as a bit out of town and situated in the library but very helpful lady called Valerie who spoke very good English. Parking in the market square was free and lots of space. Aveluy a quiet village outside Albert so needed to drive to the town for shopping and eating.

Our hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable well beyond our expectations. Their attention to detail and great kindness made a good stay really excellent.

There was a lot to see if you are interested in WW1, the...

There was a lot to see if you are interested in WW1, the cemeteries are dotted around, we didn't get to go to the caves at Arras, and we didn't get to go to Jules Vernes house in Amiens as it was closed the day we were there! Lots of history here. We will be returning to the area.
