    Not keen on Wombwell main area but a train away from Pennistone, lovely walk to nearby village of Hemmingfield for a canal walk and a nice pub of The Elephant & Castle also a nice fishing lake walk 2 mins from this cottage

    1 hour from, Peak District National Park.

    1 hour from, Peak District National Park. Snake pass, Bakewell, Marlock/ Cable car ride up to Abraham Heights. Sheffield. All within Barnsley areas. Good routes out, easy to get to , quite quickly. Not heavy traffic.nice river walks at Cannon Hall Farm.and the museum and gardens. 36 different varieties of plums!!. Thoroughly enjoyed.

    Had a great stay.

    Had a great stay. The only problem was that the tv in my room said, no matter the price you would get a breakfast and complimentary drinks. The first day of my 3 day stay they honoured it but the second and 3rd day they wouldn't. I thought this was poor and it still gave this information ot on the tv.

    As Secretary of a fancy pigeon club a group of us travel to Barnsley for the Country's leading show which is held at the Merrodome. Comming from Cumbria it's quite a trip and Barnsley for us countryfolk is a bit daunting - traffic wise ! But always well worth it in the end. Plenty to see and do.

    I was in Barnsley solely for an event.

    I was in Barnsley solely for an event. For the Big Day Out with the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican it was perfect. I can't comment on any other aspect of Barnsley, except that the locals we met were great.

    A great place to stay.

    A great place to stay. We were a little worried when we arrived as a wedding was being hosted on the day. However, our worries were unwarranted as the event (and afterwards) were separate and quiet from the remainder of the hotel and guests. The room was excellent. Spacious, well appointed and up to date, with a modern, functional bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was easy and tasty!

    Perfect location for what we needed,very quiet so Perfect night's sleep , front facing room with beautiful views over the countryside, good size room, everything you needed, beautiful bathroom with large rain shower very modern, bed comfortable, quite hotel overall, lovely decor in main hotel, lovely small bar area with lovely bar food, good service and friendly staff, would definitely recommend a visit if you're wanting a nice quiet stay, also a lovely old country pub with beautiful food just at end of drive, plenty of easy parking

    The rooms are spacious and comfortable,the corridors are wide and clean.A very nice lobby reception entrance,a good bar and restaurant area.The main toilets near the bar were very clean and had a nice fragrant smell,the staff were very helpful and polite.We stayed one night on way to Manchester airport,on our return we decided to stay an unscheduled night again.The food in restaurant was very good,this was for third or fourth stay at this hotel we can not fault it yet.

    The room quality was very poor. It was dark, as there were no ceiling lights—only a side lamp. If you need proper lighting to see your face clearly, you have to go to the bathroom. The bed was small, and I was shocked when I opened the door, thinking, "Is this what I paid £152 for a night?" Honestly, Premier Inn has more luxurious rooms than this. I regretted booking that Burntwood Court Hotel. The venue is nice but the rooms is a no no.
