Dog friendly facilities were really good, with a downstairs room not far from reception, easy walks from the door, a doggy paw wash outside and plenty of space in the room for a proper dog bed (provided). Spa and gym very nice. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was very good and beautiful to sit in the restaurant and see the dawn across the lake. Room was quiet enough but not silent. Dogs can sit in the main reception/ bar area which was comfortable and a nice place for a snack and a coffee together with your dog. The old boathouse next door did a good value sunday lunch and they also had dog friendly tables available so that was great.

From the moment I set foot in The Eliot Arms, I was immediately captivated by its charming Cornish allure. Nestled in the picturesque village of Tregadillett, and conveniently located near Launceston and the A30, it is a gem that perfectly captures the essence of Cornwall's enchanting aura. The genuine warmth with which every guest is received resonates deeply. Whether you're a returning patron or a first-time visitor, the welcoming atmosphere feels like a gentle embrace from an old friend. This isn't just a place to stay; it's a beautiful retreat where memories are crafted. The culinary offerings are nothing short of divine. The commitment to locally-sourced, fresh ingredients is palpable in each bite, paying a delectable homage to Cornwall's rich gastronomic legacy. Their seasonal specials, paired with a pint of real ale or a glass of wine, truly elevates the dining experience to an epicurean adventure. As night falls and it's time to rest, the cozy en suite bedrooms provide the perfect sanctuary. Tastefully decorated, they're a harmonious blend of comfort and traditional aesthetics. Waking up from a tranquil night's sleep and being greeted by a hearty Cornish breakfast is the cherry on top of an already delightful stay. The Eliot Arms isn't just a pub with rooms; it's a testament to Cornish hospitality at its finest. Whether you're here for work or leisure, every moment becomes a cherished memory. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking the quintessential Cornwall experience. If I could give it more than 10 stars, I would!

We stayed for 1 night in the Dorvel & Hen family suite and we loved it. The 2 rooms were very comfortable and well-heated. The bathroom was huge & spacious. Hardly any noises from the pub downstairs during the night. Our stay came with breakfast in the pub; prepared upon order with quality ingredients and we enjoyed it very much. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves in the morning and the wait staff was very attentive. Check-out was hassle-free.

Cirencester has a wealth of historic buildings and quirky narrow streets. A market and lots of independent shops and places to eat. The people were the friendliest we have met on our many visits to English towns. Great for a short stay.

We hadn't meant to stop in Cirencester, but we'd gotten a bit lost in the area and hadn't eaten breakfast. We drove to the middle of town, marveled at the architecture, ate lunch at a delightful cafe just above a bookstore. Just beside the bookstore wad a glassblowing shop, where we watched the artisan and picked up some small souvenirs. Cirencester is a town that we had zero expectations about and fell in love with. Next time we're back, we'll stay longer and enjoy the ambiance and explore.

We loved the walks around the town and the restaurants and parks. Very big old trees, the statues of the hare. The parish in Watermore was very welcoming when we joined the congregation for worship on Sunday. Unfortunately, the air raid shelter seems to have closed for the public. We would have liked to visit it. The roundabouts are very complicated and difficult to negotiate.

The history and buildings were really interesting. Plenty of shops and cafes within easy walking distance. Museums, amphitheatre and art galleries were great. Friendly people and the tourist information was a hit. Wish we had more time to visit the park. The Parish Church of St John Baptist and the Augustinian Abbey of St Mary and the grounds are well worth a visit.

Lovely shops, a wide range of restaurants and pubs, a very interesting museum, Abbey grounds and Cirencester Park all make Cirencester a good choice for a short break. There is even an outdoor swimming pool. The Emerald Thai restaurant was very good. Well served by buses, so no need for a car. The Cotswold Water park is nearby.

The Stump was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay! We were there for 3 nights and the staff were lovely and willing to help, especially Natalie (?). The bed was extremely comfortable and the best pillows we've had at a hotel! The room was impeccablely clean and they've modernised the bathroom whilst keeping its charm. Breakfast was delicious and they serviced our room daily. We loved being outside of town but recommend people to have a car as taxi's are very expensive! We will be staying here again!
