We wanted somewhere half way to break our journey up to Scotland that was good value and close to the motorway. This B&B was Excellent value for money. Lovely hosts, large family room with en-suite it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was 10/10, Will definitely come back!

We liked everything about Kirkconnel Hall Hotel, it was very accommodating, different in that it was an old listed building, full of history, great hosts, and a very inviting lounge bar. The bedroom was very spacious as was the bathroom. Great building you could get lost in!

Ecclefechen is a beautiful town and they've done a lovely job on the house. Be sure to check out the incredible mantel. The staff were really friendly and the bar and restaurant were great. Great food as well. Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time. The room was lovely, big and clean, vast choice of food for breakfast, kind and welcoming staff. The dinner we had at the restaurant was delicious, they also let us keep our dog with us while dining and having breakfast. Special mention: our dog was spoiled by the staff, cuddled and so very welcome.

Very serviceminded staff. We had an early start after one night at the Hotel. The staff made us an early breakfast one hour before they usually serve breakfast. The staff helped us a lot during our short stay. Very nice place.

    Ecclefechan has a museum based in Thomas Carlyle's birthplace which is worth visiting. Nearby is the Devil's Porridge Museum which details life and events at MOD Gretna Green explosives factory. Also the coastline is very pretty.

    Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired...

    Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store.We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

    Clean comfortable made very welcome , felt too many dont’s in conversation and didn’t like a note being put on bed we were not using after being told not to use empty bed , down side had to travel into Gretna for food to bring back , many more information on that would be useful but I also didn’t ask , have to say thank you for letting us leave a bit later to go to wedding

    A very good host and attentive staff.

    A very good host and attentive staff. A great breakfast to start your day off, and was a good base to visit gretna green and dumfries and on to castle douglas. Then back to hotel for a nice drink, food and comfy bed.

    Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

    A quirky hotel set on beautiful grounds which appears to have been a stunning Hall in a previous life. Easy to access from the motorway. The room was clean and there was plentiful hot water. Everything about the hotel is very tired and well used. However, if have good manners and you're looking to experience English eccentricity in your host with a Fawlty Towers type hotel stay this is most definitely the place for you. I will be staying again!
