Port Isaac is a magical place!

Port Isaac is a magical place! We loved watching the tide rise and fall in the harbor and watching the sunset from the balcony of the Golden Lion. We also walked from one side of the hill, through the village and up the other side for magnificent views! The museum in the old church was interesting, and we loved all the shops and just the overall quaintness of Port Isaac. Just know it is best to park your car and just walk everywhere.

Stunning area. The village has narrow streets and cottages. Very steep hills. The harbour is popular and you can see why. We bought some chips & sat on the rocks when the tide was low. Just sat there for over an hour soaking up the view. Port Isaac is like being back in time. The eateries are quite expensive, so best to buy takeaway if on a budget. There is a reasonably priced cafe at the top of hill called the Cornish Cove and the food is very good. Also a fish & chip shop that is fairly priced and delicious.

Great harbour with excellent food and drink options.

Great harbour with excellent food and drink options. Wish we had had 2 nights stay rather than 1 night. The Doc Martin series of places to see also make stay here great. The restaurant across the street from The Slipway and the Golden Lion Pub are well worth a visit

A gorgeous little fishing village which maintains its old style charm. Everyone is so welcoming. Great place to visit with wonderful scenery. It’s very hilly so think carefully if taking elderly people with you.

    The scenery was beautiful.

The scenery was beautiful. After finishing a tour of the UK, Port Isaac's coastline was by far the best we saw. We had a beautiful meal at The Chapel and this would have been one of the best, if not the best, we had since being in the UK.

It is a tiny village on the Cornwall coast - famous for being the home of Doc Martin. The main car park is outside of town, on top a hill, and you generally have to walk down into the village. Lots of little gift shops and a number of restaurants. They also have a convenience store in town where you can get most essentials. The drive into Port Isaac takes a while, as the roads are small and wind through a number of little towns along the way. Driving can be not for the faint of heart, as the roads are very narrow and you have to rub against hedgerows to allow vehicles to pass in the other direction. Just be patient! The town in beautiful and has lovely trails along the coast.

Location is excellent. Right in the middle of Port Isaac 5 metres from the pub, the slipway and not much further to all other facilities. You can also it in some of the scenes of Doc Martin :-)
