I was happy to be in the town of Wadebridge as previously I had cycled the path. I liked the bustle of the main street, the walk along the river and the views. I appreciate that some of the businesses are traditionally run possibly by local families. I wish the museum had been open earlier.

Wadebridge is a nice riverside town with access to the north Cornish coast. The parking is relatively easy and you can still use coins! There are some good independent shops ( I always visit the big shoe shop), and we discovered Tim’s Place on this visit, a nice dog friendly cafe with good coffee and food. There are good supermarkets (Tesco’s,Aldi etc ) on the estate on the edge of town. We usually stay at The Olde House in Chapel Amble near to Wadebridge, but this time we stayed at a cottage at St Jidgey on the Padstow side of town. Both excellent venues for a holiday.

Wadebridge is a small town situated near the north coast of Cornwall. There are several places to eat and drink a short walk from where we booked overlooking the bridge. Hiring bikes was easy and perfectly placed to ride the Camel Trail. Shopping is limited but interesting and there are two good supermarkets in town. The Swan Hotel and the Molesworth Hotel were both friendly places to eat. A car is essential for accessing all of our favourite beaches and harbours on the north coast, though Padstow is cyclable.

Standing beside the River Camel, Wadebridge has many independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a local museum and cinema. Many visitors to the town explore the 18.3 mile Camel Trail which was once a railway line linking the towns of Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin. Now a flat and traffic-free path, you can either cycle or walk through beautiful scenery rich with wildlife. Each of the three towns on the route offers a bicycle hire service. Wadebridge also has a Skate & BMX park located alongside the Camel Trail for young people to enjoy.

A pleasant walk around the town.

A pleasant walk around the town. I visited late in the day but there were still some shops open to buy groceries. A lovely walk around and if you have more time there is a trail along the river to nearby Padstow which you can also cycle too. Lovely Fish and Chips.

Nice old town and renovated since my 60 s trips . Old bridge into town is worth a look at for history buffs . Nice pubs and meals . Parking good in town not as awkward as some in Cornwall. Lost our bank sadly , and one more to go soon . Can bike to Padstow on the old railway track now cinders . Called Camel Trail , fantastic, hire bike at both ends . Good shopping for clothing and shoes , wine etc . More than average shops .

Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds and pillows were excellent. The hosts were unobtrusive but always available. Kitchens are well equipped. Location is central to Wadebridge, Padstow, Port Isaac and the Eden Project. The site is beautifully kept.
