Good location, short drive into both Bantry & Glengariff.

Good location, short drive into both Bantry & Glengariff. Beautiful ocean views and saw many rainbows from the property. Excellent breakfast. Mo's hospitality was over the top in every way. Advised us of places to see off the beaten path. Gave us great dining recommendations in both Glengariff & Bantry. We had already been in Ireland for a couple weeks so we a wanted a bit more of a relaxed itinerary so we explored Garnish island, Beara Peninsula, & Gougane Barra monastery. We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting with Mo. Hope to return again some day real soon.

First Class - excellent staff throughout the Hotel - highly professional and friendly with it. Main dining room has to be experienced - attendance is an event in itself. Lovely food served in a timely way. Waiting staff are great to watch at work and they do what they do in a quiet but showy way. Lovely to sit in the hall and enjoy the two log fires and the comfy arm-chairs. A relaxing stay at a lovely hotel in a great location. Old fashioned but we like it that way - no squeaky floorboards - calm and quiet.

A beautiful village in its own right, Glengarriff is also central to several tours of the wider area. There are a couple of good pubs with music most nights in the summer as well as a couple of decent restaurants. The nature reserve in the woods is a fantastic place for a picnic. A great place for a family break.

The hotel has a beautiful location but I'm afraid to say it disappointed me for what was a 70th birthday gift to my mother. Starting with reception, we were met by the most unfriendly receptionist who had little to say in terms of a welcome or be of extra help. Similar can be said for her manner on checking out. Not a position for someone who has an attitude and is the first to meet and greet paying guests. The corridor floors to the bedroom were dirty and not vacuumed for the 2.5 days we were in the hotel. Bedroom was small, shabby and basic. Bathroom although renovated, will become run down if not cleaned thoroughly of soap scum and mould in the shower which are becoming evident. A cigarette butt was in the lift for 2 days. Cob webs were visible in the lobby and on corridors. On checking in at 3pm, the unfriendly receptionist advised when I asked, that there was no bar food being served until 5pm. When we returned at 7pm there was no table in the bar with the only alternative being the restaurant. Generally my experience of ECCLES is that is over rated, completely over priced and in dire need of an urgent face lift and a good deep clean. Credit to the young people in the breakfast room and restaurant who were cheerful and courteous and also kudos to the ladies in the Spa who are a breath of fresh air.

A lovely little town, with pubs and restaurants featuring excellent local seafood. The Bamboo Park is one of a kind in Ireland and well worth a visit. The Glengarriff Nature Reserve offers a variety of scenic and peaceful nature walks from the leisurely "River Walk" which is great for dogs as well all the way up to 4km longer hikes.

Glengarriff is a surrounded by the most beautiful scenery between the sea and the mountains and trees. There are lots of walking trails and lovely boat trips, kayaking, fishing etc. The village itself is really lovely and very friendly
