This is a good hotel with all necessary facilities. I spent only one night there and was not able to evaluate the breakfast, but all other things were ok. The location is bout ten minutes from the central streets (Market etc). When I came, they allowed me to choose one of the two rooms. The first was on the ground floor and had a view on high mountains, but I chose the second, with a balcony and without such a view. I left the hotel very early in the morning - and there were no problems with that (even though the person responsible for that had to wake up). The territory of the hotel is flowery, clean and green and has several chairs where one can have a rest.

One of the highlights of our stay was the outstanding dining experience at Hotel Gyalpo. Both breakfast and dinner were culinary delights that left us all speechless. The variety and quality of the dishes were second to none, and every member of our group enjoyed every meal to the fullest. It's not often that you find a hotel with such exceptional dining options. In addition to the service and food, the ambiance and atmosphere of the hotel were truly delightful. We stayed in off season (February) for 5 nights and it was an amazing 5 star resort experience. Staff was exceptionally friendly polite, sympathetic and helpful. The Tsas restaurant is outstanding and the complimentary 5 star - Ladakhi curated breakfast is an experience we never had before. The area is peaceful and we also used the well maintained complimentary spa and sauna area. The massage treatment was very helpful for my wife with a tense back. Feedback for the rooms: The air here in Ladakh is quite dry, therefore a humidifier in the villas might help the guests adjusting. The sofa area can be quite cold in winter so either sealed doors or additional heating near the sofa would be more comfortable. Thr upstairs bedroom and bathroom was very comfortable and warm.

    Excellent place to visit.

    Excellent place to visit. Has varied topography,landscapes and terrain. Infrastructure is just amazing. It has rivers,lakes , mountains and dessert. The pangong lake is just out of this world. Nubra valley is worth a visit and also all the monasteries and the palaces.

    Less number of public transport facility which depends the traveller to the taxi.Taxi drivers are charging huge amount for tour to Nubra ,Pangong etc.Govt should take initiative to run luxury bus services for tour.

    1. Leh itinerary of 7 to 8 days is good for visit most of the places in Ladhak less Kargil. 2. 2/3 day of acclimatization is necessary at Leh. 3. Places of interest are Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Leh Market, Shey, Hemis & Thiskey Monasteries, Hunder sand dunes, Turtuk, Pangong Tso, Khardung La & Chang La Pass. 4. Travelling for 5 to 6 hrs daily. 5. Keep yourself hydrated. 6. Best travel time is May to Jun/ Jul. Aug is hot. By mid sep the passes may close.

    Beautiful monasteries and the town is cleaner the other Indian places. The Laddakhi people are honest, quiet, and not pushy with customers. All in all, a breath of fresh air from the filth and madness that characterizes much of the country.

    I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my way around Leh.

    I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my way around Leh. There is, pretty much, everything you might need from clothing to medicine, souvenirs, and even oxygen and gas cannisters! The wide cultural variety was always in full view. Don't forget that altitude and illness can affect your appreciation of the region, as I discovered. From sea-level to 1100ft in one heave needs to be taken seriously!

    Compared with most of the small mountain guest houses in Ladakh it gives you the feeling of comfort. The hotel has big, clean rooms with comfortable beds, nice new furniture and modern style bathroom with hot water shower. My room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the city and the mountains. I appreciated also the heater at night. One of the best thing, which is important for me, was the communication with the manager before my arrival. He replied very quickly to all my answers and helped me to arrange all the things needed for my trip.

    The hotel's personnel demonstrated exceptional dedication in ensuring guests' comfort during their stay. The overall management was commendable, and guests could easily book taxis or rent bikes/scooters. Additionally, electricity was available round the clock, and the Indian cuisine served at the hotel was delectable. Furthermore, the hotel's proximity to the main market (Mall Road) was a plus, as it was within walking distance. Lastly, visitors could also purchase fresh Ladakhi cookies from nearby shops.

    By far, the best hostel I’ve stayed at in the world. Amazing staff, delicious breakfast included (with Masala Chai 🤤), a really nice terrace, and a cinema room. It’s situated a little uphill from the center, making it the perfect spot for quiet nights and a beautiful view from the rooftop. Debo made us feel at home from the start, and all the staff truly embody Ladakhi kindness. The beds and bedrooms are super comfortable, and the place is very charming.

    Everyone at Amir homestay is so friendly and welcoming. The moment I stepped in I felt immidiately at ease after a long trip, making it the best place to get some relaxation while also getting the opportunity to experience ladakhi food and culture. I can't explain it, but they just treat me like family and also opted to explore the nearby sights with me! 100% would recommend.
