Even though we stayed for a day was exceptional, the staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast delicious, our place where we stayed had everything and more . Definitely we will return!!!

Very nice, large room with outstanding bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location for a stopover during Ring Road trip. A plus - nice 3 km hike to the Grábrók volcano straight from the hotel (or shorter from the parking)

Our stay was wonderful! Iceland’s weather may be unpredictable, but its beauty more than makes up for it. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful - Deep appreciation from us. Our rental car with summer tires was slipped into road side due to the snowy and icy condition of the road in the morning, and I called the hotel (Maria) for help. The hotel quickly dispatched a gentleman (Birzir) over to pull us out back onto the road so we could continue our travel. A huge relief for us !! Also, very good breakfast and cozy room! a good stay in this hotel!! Will come back staying here another time (during warmer season)!!!

As we were arriving on Christmas Day (no supermarkets or restaurants open), the owners were very helpful in recommending alternatives and even offered to get some basics in advance of our arrival. In the end, we brought food from abroad but the thought was really nice. The horses (got to pat after building some trust) and dogs are beautiful!

Impressive views of Troll Waterfalls and an extensive vinyl collection of over 3000 records are notable features of Fossatún Country Hotel.

This place is the best during my trip. Too bad I stayed here for only one night. Room is clean. Host is very polite and helpful. Breakfast was great!! I felt like they didn't try to save cost on food for you at all. Well, Iceland is expensive in general. So to be fair, compared to other places I have been, this place got the highest value for money. Looks like they are family running the place, and I can see they put attention to details.
