I don’t even know where to start. This truly unique place was exceptional. We are incredibly clean and tidy people but this took it to a whole new level. We particularly enjoyed meeting the family who have lived in the area for lifetimes and hope we remain friends for years to come. Interestingly their balanced friendship was extended into a larger family feeling in the nearby village, for example, the local fruit and veg shop where we took all our items to the till and the person serving us offered them to us for free! A truly magical part of the world let alone Jordan. The accommodation was exceptional and the best bit, THE VIEW. I’m rarely speechless as a result of visiting Iceland and other beautiful parts of the world but I was stunned by the incredible view. Breakfast was so delicious, a full buffet delivered to our convenience. I work online, internet is important to me so finding out there was no wifi was a concern, however, there’s FULL 4G coverage in the area and I was sharing my screen, video calling on my hotspot with no problem at all.

Everything was fantastic! Great welcome. Abdullah took us to watch the sunset over the Dead Sea while drinking coffee and eating dates. Later we had a delicious dinner. Abdullah made us feel at home and we loved the whole experience of staying with a Jordanian family. This experience is a must!

This hotel definitely has the number one location in town, absolutely adjacent to the castle. Staff are incredibly friendly and rooms have the most amazing views. Breakfast was a buffet of local food and plentiful. Rooms have both air-conditioning and heating depending on the time of year which worked well. Hotel is next to the old town which is well worth a wonder and we found nice local food nearby in the evening. One word of warning, when you’re entering the castle watch out for guides who “attach themselves “to you and try and fleece you when you leave. It’s worth letting them know that you don’t need a guide when you enter.

We wanted to have a stop between Wadi Rum and Amman, to enjoy the many sights in between. Al Karak is a great stop. This apartment is very big, comfortable, and totally a local experience as it has the look and feeling of Middle East. Furthermore the neighbourhood were it is located not many people speak English and it is not at all touristic, as not that close to the castle. We had an appartment on the ground floor, silent, with parking spaces in front. Big living room and sofas. We didn't have breakfast included but closeby, beside the roundabout, you can enjoy a traditional and very cheap breakfast either in situ or takeaway
