Very kind and freindly host, We arrived a little early, and he set up a sitting for us until our apartment was ready and offered water. He would regularly inquire about our day activities and assist us in making plans for the next day. Having heard about my minor accident, he offers to fix my car. Its 3 bedrooms spacious apartment having each room a balcony with beautifull view, kitchen with all the equipment you might possibly need, spacious bathroom with an ironing board and a washing machine. Easy access from the airport, located in a quiet neighbourhood. Given the facilities and the hospitality of the host, it is unquestionably an excellent value for the money. We definitely enjoyed our stay and felt right at home, and I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family. Special thanks for the parking (despite the fact that it wasn't listed in the reservation) and the tree mangoes that you gave us. Just a suggestion that guest should be provided the Google Map position and that there be some sort of sign put up on the property. I relocated here for a day to stay closer to the airport, having come from Bel Ombre—a remarkably scenic area that is a must-visit for travellers. However, Bel Ombre has very few restaurants, most of which are expensive and widely scattered, making it challenging without private transport. Without a car, our experience was quite difficult—until we finally rented one. In contrast, Mahébourg is far more tourist-friendly, offering numerous dining options and a pleasant seaside setting all within walking distance. Surprisingly, the overall costs were considerably cheaper than Bel Ombre

Mahebourg is a vibrant transport hub. The people are friendly and eager to assist in finding places and any needed information. The market is a must visit. I ate at the market food stalls and at Bo'Valon Mall.

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront.

Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South.

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South. We only spent one day there, basically to shorten the trip to the airport the next morning, but we discovered several little gems. My one complaint - it could do with some live sega music. We will definitely spend a few more days there on our next trip.

The city is not beautiful.

The city is not beautiful. It is good for accomodation and making trips from the base. There is no nice bar where to go for a drink during evening. There are some good restaurants and nice market. I would recommend to stay in Blue Bay if you can find affordable accomodation there.

I was totally surprised that the breakfast was so varied, dined outdoors & met a new group of friends from another country…. the staff was welcoming & made sure we knew all the ins & outs of the place. They also offer rides (for a fee) to wherever we wanted to go…. Very helpful. It’s not a top notch hotel, but we felt very comfortable & surpassed our expectations. We got a genuine flavor & feeling for the people who live here.

Centrally located in the heart of Mahebourg, spacious flat with 2 rooms and a nice terrace. Everything is within walking distance: supermarkets, restaurants, seafront, local market and other amenities/attractions. Blue Bay beach is around 7-8 minutes driving. There is a useful kitchen for those who plan to have breakfast or cook their meals on site. The host, Noel, is very attentive and kind.

We stayed for only 1 night but everything was nice! The bed was particularly comfortable, the place was quiet and the location was perfect to go to the airport the next day (it's also very well located if you want to visit Mahébourg). The hotel is lovely and the pool with the sea view seemed great (we were disappointed because we couldn't stay more to enjoy the place!).

The buffet food was so much better than we expected and the staff were super friendly. The location was great, right on a beautiful beach and there are two separate beaches. One busy with music and one around the corner but also still part of the hotel and super quiet. We enjoyed the all inclusive kayaking and paddle boarding
