We loved the beauty of the city.
We loved the beauty of the city. Tourist information staff were very friendly and helpful with information for sightseeing. War museum is excellently presented. Gondola ride to the top of Narvikfjellet is a must to see the beautiful sights from above Buses were easy to use and the plenty of shopping centres. We loved all the memorial statues, a beautiful city. We also took a ride on the Arctic Train, suggest this is a day time trip to see the amazing scenery.Guest review byChezAustralia - 4.0
In my opinion not worth a visit.
In my opinion not worth a visit. You might have some angle if you're into skiing or if you are a history buff at the war museum, but that's about it. Don't even think about some shopping experience. But a very good starting point for a ride with the night train over the mountains to Stockholm! Narvick is a bit of a hidden jem.
Narvick is a bit of a hidden jem. We were travelling to Abisko in Sweden to view the Northern lights and a friend of mine had travelled the Loften Islands and thought they where one of the most spectacular places on earth and for a New Zealander that's a statement. So we travelled from Abisko to Narvick to spend three days there and we were not disappointed. It's a great base for a fantastic area of Norway.Guest review byClintUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The bus ride from Tromso to Narvik had amazing scenery.
The bus ride from Tromso to Narvik had amazing scenery. We visited the Narvik war museum which was very large and extremely well curated. It covered the major world wars up to the current conflict in Gaza. We had hoped to catch the Arctic Train to Sweden but part of the trip involved a replacement bus due to a derailment so we missed the most scenic parts of the train trip.Guest review byLyT2795Australia - 8.0
There is no bus going to Basecamp Narvik.
There is no bus going to Basecamp Narvik. The only options currently are car, taxi, walking uphill (approx. 30 minutes from downtown) or take a bus to the closest bus stop from which you have to walk some 10 minutes anyway. With the skilift you can go up to a restaurant and sightseeing platforms with fantastic views. I think Narvik is mainly a destination for nature lovers and nature related activities (hiking in summer and skiing in winter).Guest review byEvaLatvia

The evening meal menu choices were limited but simple yet tasty and satisfying, and breakfast buffet offered plenty of choices for all tastes. We had become familiar with the hotel over 3 days of discovering this area of Narvik while staying at a bnb apartment. Our departure train to Stockholm was cancelled without any warning and we were so glad to be able to find somewhere to stay that was easy to find and also had the bus stop outside for the airport express.
