The hotel was very professional, they already had filled my information before arrival and immideatly managed to give my room card. I didnt expect such an impeccable view from my room. Even though the room wasnt so big, it was very clean and the view definitely made me forget about the size of the room. The breakfast was exceptional, they had high class food like salmon, avocado and a good range of cheese and drinks. The staff were smiling and helpful. I didnt have a perfect stay for the perfect price like this for a very long time. The good thing is the hotel is 5 minutes away from the airport, but the bad thing is its 30 minutes away from the main city, Funchal. The taxi prices to Funchal are pretty hefty costing aound 50 euros and there is no busses at late hours, so I would reccomend you to rent a car if you are staying here (renting cars cost really cheap in Madeira usually as well).

The quality of the property is exceptional and to a very high standard. The shower room is fantastic, high quality rainfall shower (with additional shower head), super large mirror with lighting and anti-mist heating. Shower cubicle is spacious and doors easy to open and shut with a good fit. The kitchen area is fitted to a high standard with soft-close drawers and doors. There is are plenty of drawers full of kitchen utensils, plates, cups etc, all you could need. Nice Espresso coffee machine too and the fridge/freezer is big enough to stock up for a week or two's stay. Patio area is basic at the moment but functional and the owner/host will be improving this as time goes on he told me. Also, there is private parking here, which in Machico is priceless (don't get a huge car!) the back streets of Machico can be a little tight sometimes. The bedroom is nice, mattress is a 'firm' type. Good storage in bedroom. Blinds are new and there's an outer shutter window. There is a local bar opposite the apartment so there will be some noise but it did not bother me at all as they close late afternoon but this is a residential area with all that goes with that. I slept every night no problem. The apartment is very close to Machico sea front, just 600m, you will find an amazing seafood restaurant on the seafront. Nice supermarkets very close too. There is a bar and a cafe just 200m away too. Nice for a morning coffee or evening Poncha after a day out. A Bolt taxi will cost 23 euros (average as price fluctuates) to Funchal centre from Machico a yellow taxi around 50% more I think. The owner/host, Patricio, is a really nice and friendly person. I was fortunate in that he just by chance was able to give me a ride to the airport! If you want somewhere in the heart of lovely Machico then you cannot go wrong staying at Casa Do Favinha. You'll be staying in real Machico and mixing with the friendly locals. I felt very safe.

Awesome place, parking next to the apartment available. Porch has a nice view. We got bread delivered in the morning too. Very friendly owners, did not meet in person, but they stayed available for any questions over phone or messages. Awesome value for the price. Google maps show correct location, was easy to find.

    Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker, It was however for us a slow paced setting with a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets with walking routes for those who wish. The harbour offered boat trips, whale watching and surf lessons, the latter was enjoyed from the safety of a dry vantage point. Local bus into Funchal for 2-60 euro single was 50 mins away which opens up further opportunities for excursions and sight seeing like the red or yellow hop on hop off bus tours which operate from the promenade where the ticket is valid for 24 hours allowing to to spend time where the mood takes. Weather forecasting in resort will not take into account the drizzle from the mountains with can add a cooling break from the sunshine and occasional rain. Enjoy.

    A nice area to stay outside Funchal where I find it still preserves. We stayed in the best Modern Guesthouse, ate local foods in O’Gala and Massa Mia. They have two beaches. The rocky area and the sand area.

    Nice small village nearby 2 beaches with all the necessary shops (supermarkets) and several restaurants. Away from the buzzling city. 😄 But by car nearby some touristic hotspots like Santa Cruz, Funchal, Cristo Rei, Santana houses etc.

    Machico was good for food shopping, restaurants, and bars. We didn't use the beach, but saw lots of people swimming. The town is handy for some great walks on the east end of the island. We even managed a walk to Porta da Cruz and back from town.

    Machico has shops with souvenirs and snack bars and restaurants as well as a clean beach with golden sand and changing facilities. There is also a supermarket and bus station enabling travel to other destinations on the island. People are friendly and helpful. There are many places to simply sit and have a drink and a snack.

    Great village with range of facilities, as well as sandy beach (rare on island) together with pebble beach and harbour. Lots of places to eat or drink out, car parking (some free as well), supermarkets, shopping outlets, places of worship and walking that is safe.

    We had a lovely time at S.A.L – Beach Apartments in Caniçal. The town itself is very cozy and peaceful, and the location is ideal for trips along Madeira’s scenic west coast. The apartments are very new, modern, and clean – perfect if you're looking for a fresh and comfortable place to stay. It was also a bonus that you can easily park for free on the streets, which made getting around really convenient.

    Lovely apartment within walking distance to the beachfront of Machico and the shops and restaurants around the main square. The property offers all you need to comfortably stay for a couple of days. I stayed in the run up to the Trans Madeira mountain bike race and it was perfect for what I needed.

    Freshly decorated flat, close to the centre of Machico and a 10 minute walk from the beach. All very modern, clean facilities, with a vintage Portuguese style to it. Our host was lovely and very helpful! Really helped that it had a drive, as parking in Madeira is a challenge.
