I had an incredible stay at Hotel Campismo Praia Grande on São Tomé and Príncipe! The location is a true paradise, with stunning natural beauty all around. My husband and I spent two nights here and Celia is an amazing woman, she speaks perfect English, she is from Portugal but she has been living here on the cliff for many years with the local community and teaching them. It's a really beautiful place with its own rocky beach. There is often a problem with power cuts, but we didn't mind as we came to relax. The food was fabulous. They look after lots of dogs but only let them out when guests don't mind.

This was the best place we stayed in Sao Tome. It is about 30 to 40 min drive from the airport. The garden in the front of the property is fabulous and well designed with many interesting plants and fruit trees. There is also a cocoa plantation through which you can take a leisurely walk. The owner, Maria, was an excellent host. She was very welcoming and friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The food was very good and we had 3 evening meals there all of which were delicious and well presented. The Mousse au Chocolat made with cocoa from their own plantation was so good that we had it for dessert each time. The breakfast is very good too and we were given plenty of fresh fruits and fruit juice. We stayed there twice and both rooms we were given were very clean and the beds very comfortable. If you are after peace and quiet this is a fantastic place as you are surrounded by nature. There is also the option to take longer walks in the area.

The property was a perfect fit for our family of 7! The rooms were spacious the lounging and dining area was superb. The direct view into the ocean made sunrises and sunsets truly special. The host was always available to assist and having someone cook breakfast was an absolute privilege - thanks Florinda! (Having a car rental is a must.)

We loved absolutely everything there. It is on a perfect spot, in a lovely village close to an amazing surf spot. Spacious and very well equipped. From the first day we felt home.
