Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river.
Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.Guest review byKKC68United States - 8.0
I liked to have riverview.
I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats. I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person. Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.Guest review bySterkNetherlands

Green fields, delicious food, best staf ever that will make you feel at home. Also great and very strong wifi in the dinning room. If you have time before you gonna move to Laos, just stay there for more days. Although Chaing khong is small you can have chilly and great time in the Baan Sakuna hotel. The owner picked us up from the Thai check office and the next day took us to Chiang Khong to take the bus to Chiang Rai, at no extra charge. In the evening we ate excellent Thai food at their restaurant. Also in the morning his wife gave us delicious fruit from their garden as we left. There isn’t much going on in Chiang Khong but we found this hotel to be close to bars and eateries while also being secluded from the main road through the town. Staff were friendly upon arrival.
