We have been to Summersville Lake 3 times in August. We just discovered it and fell in love with the lake and boating. The town is friendly and safe. Lots of eateries, and places to get supplies.We felt like we had been to the beach!!! A beach town

Summersville Lake is the best lake Ive ever been to, so clean and big. Is easy to navigate, lots of coves to float in. I felt safe the whole time, is boat police present. we have spent two trips there this summer. I actually thought about skipping my beach trip and going to Summersville Lake. Hotels in the area are affordable, hope it stays that way. We bought a new 14 ft Jon boat this year. It only has a 9.9 hp but does fine on the lake. We are getting a bigger motor next year for Summersville. A great place

Beautiful lake, friendly people all around town. Ate at Bob Evan’s and it was very good food and clean. Was only in town for one day, but would like to spend more time here. Excellent alternative when staying to visit New River Gorge

Summersville is always our mid-point on our way to Holly River State Park. The Bob Evans restaurant is close by. We spend the night in Summersville, shop at Walmart for groceries before we move on the Holly River. We've followed this plan for many years and it works well for us.

Old Summersville is very quaint and cute. If you are a city person, I don't recommend. If you enjoy an adventure, history and sight seeing this is a great central point for Nicholas County. Not a lot of food options other than fast food and zero night life. Everything pretty much closes at 9 or 10pm.

Summersville is a great town. Especially if you're trip revolves around the lake and being active. Longpoint Bar& Grill is a must if you're going to eat. Maloney's is a great place as well.
