El Hotel Tsubakino se encuentra a 3 minutos a pie de la estación de Yudanaka y ofrece baños termales cubiertos y al aire libre con vistas a las montañas nevadas. Best hotel in our Japan trip! Room was enormous and beautiful. The onsen was very nice and they allow tattoos, which is a great plus! You can even book one space privately. The breakfast is traditional Japanese and it is so yummy. I cannot eat fish, and they accommodated my food request (you need to inform them in advance). I 100% recommend it and I would stay here again.

Conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from JR Karuizawa Shinkansen (bullet train) Station, Hotel Grand Vert Kyu Karuizawa offers spacious guestrooms with a comfortable sofa and free WiFi. This is a fantastic hotel; location, service, amenities, and the room were all excellent. The people at the front desk were friendly and very helpful, this applied to literally 5-6 people I had interacted with. The service was great, even after electing not to have our room made up, we came back to fresh waters and towels by the door. The room was spacious and very clean. We had the traditional Japanese room, two double beds with a tatami area, for a family of 4, two kids 11 and 14, there were plenty of space for us. Futons were available for the tatami area which was perfect the kids, and the beds were much softer than the typical hotels in Japan. Separate shower and toilet room, both with sinks, was also very convenient. There’s also a library next to a lounge area with a cozy fireplace and cushy leather chairs and free espresso and drinks. I was able to get some work done without being disturbed as it was very quiet. The hotel is about a 7-8 min leisure walk from the Kariuzawa station, super quiet neighborhood, though it may be because the ski season had virtually ended. It took around 10-15 min walk from the hotel to the outlet shopping area in the south side of the station, which had all of the restaurants. The location was superb, easy to find places to eat and get to the ski resort, a 10 min free bus ride from the outlet area.

El Tokonamiso se encuentra en un bosque y ofrece habitaciones de estilo japonés, zona de barbacoa y conexión WiFi gratuita en la zona del vestíbulo. The room was a normal and very clean Japanese style Tatami room. It was extraordinary to be able to use the Onsen of the Fukinomori Hotel next door. The personal was very friendly. Just be aware of bringing your own food. Coffee, tea, hot water and a microwave are available.

El Izumiya Zenbe es un alojamiento histórico de estilo japonés fundado en 1876 que cuenta con varios baños termales cubiertos y al aire libre y ofrece un ambiente elegante. Izumiya Zenbe is LOVELY - I don't think the photos do it justice. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The building was an amazing old structure with beautiful little gardens in the walkways. The room we had was very nice, with tatami mats and futon beds. We loved the tea set and the little table with the heater underneath...! We also booked the breakfast and dinner service, and we are very glad we did. The private dining spaces and kaiseki experience was awesome. As was cruising around the ryokan in our yukata robes. We only used the barrel bath, rather than the rotenburo, but it was so good (although very hot!). A very relaxing place, we would happily stay here again.
