The staff at Guilin HeShe Lakeside Resort are beyond phenomenal. Melody and her team assisted my grandparents as if they were family. Besides the most amazing staff team, the surrounding views and scenery in this area is breathtaking, the rooms are just as seen on photos, and the room views are one of a kind.
Melody and her team provided not only a place for my grandparents to stay, but a lasting memory of Guilin and the people you can potentially meet along your travels. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, don’t second guess, just book! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Guilin HeShe Lakeside Resort, my grandparents are so thankful for your hospitality.

The hotel managers recently opened this very nice hotel, and in spite of our late arrival, everybody was extremely helpful, and ready to serve us whatever food they had. Michelle and the rest of the staff made the best of our short visit to Guilin. They helped us organize all of our trips in the region, during a very complicated time (around the Chinese New Year). The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes away from Guiling Bei (north) Railway station, but it's easy to take a cheap taxi to get there.
The room was very comfortable and has a lovely view of the karst mountains of Guilin. From Guilin you can visit Yangshuo and Xingping either by bus or train (the train is much faster and very cheap).
I really recommend this hotel to travelers who want to spend some quiet quality time in a delightful little town, surrounded by very nice people.

The staff is great. Prior to my arrival, communication was smooth—Melody speaks excellent English and provided all the information I needed about activities in Guilin. During my stay, Ms. Bai was incredibly kind. Despite her limited English, we managed to communicate easily with translation apps. She helped me find a nearby restaurant and we even shared a pleasant conversation over tea.
The hotel’s facilities are modern, and my room had everything I needed.
The hotel is a bit far from the city center, which could be inconvenient depending on your plans in Guilin. However, this is something you can easily see on the map before booking, so it wasn’t a surprise. Plus, the distance is compensated by mountain views and the peaceful surroundings. For me, it was completely worth it—after long days of exploring, the tranquility of the hotel and the nearby dining options made it the perfect place to relax.

The receptionists ( 2 young ladies ) were absolutely delightful. They tried to make our stay comfortable and gave us invaluable information. The only disappointment was that we could not get the 4 star VIP boat seats for the day we wanted, but they made sure that we did get the tickets for the next day!

This stay completely exceeded my expectations! Although there is no elevator in the hotel, each floor isn’t very high—carrying my luggage up a few steps felt more like a light little workout, and it wasn’t a hassle at all. The owner was extremely thoughtful; when he saw I had a large suitcase, he proactively came to help, which instantly dispelled all my worries.
The room was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was as soft as the quilt at home, so I slept exceptionally well at night. Moreover, this old building without an elevator actually has a more cozy, homey vibe. The sound insulation is surprisingly good, and I couldn’t hear any noise from the corridor at all. The breakfast included freshly cooked porridge and side dishes, which were steaming hot and really warmed my stomach.

The decor style is truly exceptional, featuring a predominantly wooden tone paired with a black-and-white design that is both simple and sophisticated. The first-floor lobby doubles as a café open to the public. The 24-hour online concierge service is particularly attentive, and the smart voice-controlled room management system is incredibly convenient.
