From the very first moment, the staff was super hepful and informative. Gai (the manager) helped us with some tips about the nakasendo trial and to book some complex train tickets for the next days etc. Moreover, all the facilities were super clean, spacious and we just love it this place. The house and hospitality are great! Perfectly located and it was recently renovated so everything is top notch! Loved the fluffy duvets and the cleanliness! Attentiveness to details such as games, complimentary snacks, and drinks (free and chargeable - both appreciated!). The weather was great so we had a bbq - fabulous as well! We were also lucky enough to be picked up from the station - things that made our journey infinitely easier! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and we would stay again in a heartbeat ✨

Everything you can dream about an hotel. Super staff, all the amenities were great! For Japan, the rooms are huge. De loooved the naturel Onsen and after the trail, it was perfect to relax in this charming environment. The food are so tasty and delicious 🤩🤩.

My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

It was truly a pleasure to stay in this 110 year old traditional Japanese house. There were no other guests at the time and we had the whole house to ourselves. The house is tastefully furnished and there is even a new trail bicycle available for guests. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. He offered to make reservations for us at a local restaurant and even drove us (at a time that best suited us) to the trailhead for our hike at Magome.

It was AMAZING. We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.
