The 24 hour front desk offers free luggage storage service as well as concierge service for guests' convenience. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, we felt like VIPs. The staff were exceptional, the room was large, clean and quiet, and the breakfast was outstanding. We also had Club Lounge access, which was a slice of heaven. The hotel was in walking distance to Nagoya Station as well for all our transportation needs. This hotel checked all the boxes and we wish we could have stayed longer!

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. This is a delightful guesthouse, only a short walk from the bus station. Loved the common areas - it was nice to have a kitchen with tables. Our room had traditional Japanese beds on the floor and tatami matting, which the kids loved.

Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. The hostel offers hot-spring baths, free Wi-Fi and 3 lounges. We keep coming back. The building has a great atmosphere, very welcoming. Very helpful personal. Spotlessly clean. And the onsen is great for soaking away jetlag. Close enough to Hakone for a daytrip.

Syukaen Yunohanazen is set in Atami, 27 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 29 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, and 43 km from Mount Daruma. The 4-star ryokan features sea views and is 1.2 km from Atami Sun Beach. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Two different hot spring baths, nice spread of food served to room for breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff but a bit weak on speaking English.

1.6 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated property situated in Takayama and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. This 4-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and bicycle parking. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. Very well maintained property, although we can the tell the property is aged, the effort and hard work to maintain the house is very impressive

Set in Fujinomiya, 34 km from Lake Kawaguchi, Kyukamura Fuji offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is situated 35 km from Fuji-Q Highland. This place is a hidden gem. Beautiful and rare location. Wonderful food. Staff so sincere and helpful. Love this place so much we came from overseas visited it twice in less than four months. Must stay at least two nights.

It had a true homely feel - you will be staying with a local couple who are the most wonderful people. They are both deeply passionate about Tokoname artists and will be able to give you a lot of information about them. They delivered an authentic experience of living in a Japanese household. The rooms are cute, clean, and comfortable too!

It is set 40 km from Nagoya Station and offers free shuttle service. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. I usually don’t write reviews but this place is so good that I had no option but to write. This is a house. A proper house with a lovely backyard and cleanliness of highest standards. However, the real charm is the landlady. She is extremely polite and generous to the extent that she goes all the way to accommodate the guest’s needs. From little games to Onsen excursions, just staying at this property should be a reason good enough to visit Gifu. Finally, the food. I would recommend you to wake up super hungry because the landlady puts out a feast every morning! She is a cook par excellence and each dish (including the serveware) has a story to tell. It’s amazing how she manages everything on her own. There is nothing to not like about this place. I visited Gifu on a work trip but now this place has become my reason to return to Gifu. The city has an asset in this place and it truly shows you what Japan is when you take away the neon lights.
