While choosing the place to stay I found out that nice home and read about the very welcome host. So, all my days of staying here Rebeca was so helpful, especially in organizing all my visits to the park and the concert. At checking in she gave me the delayed tours list and I her recommendation. And it was so helpful. By the way, you may have lunch and dinner in the house.

We travel a lot and once in a while a place stands out for exceptional hospitality. This is one of those places. The hotel is family run and while they don’t speak great English they were incredibly helpful in helping us plan our time. They were very knowledgable of the area and knew where and when we should visit every attraction. They also gave us some 10/10 restaurant recommendations. Room was lovely, modern and clean and they also gave us a ride to the airport free of charge when we left. Highly recommend. 👍

The atmosphere is good and calm, Ming his service is exceptional and always ready to help. He helped us to book the tickets to the mountains and tianmen and is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable and his English is good which is rare to find in China. The owner was kind and super helpful the whole time I was staying there! He picked me up from the station and took me to the shooting range that I wanted to try, which he didn’t need to do that. By the way, I don’t recommend this Long Chen shooting range, I didn’t have fun at all😒 you cannot hold the gun as it was locked in the place. Lol… Good location! The people around there were very friendly and nice, the restaurant opposite of the hostel gifted me with their homemade wine when I went there for dinner, and the owner of the hostel next to it call ‘Yi lu you ni’ was very helpful and he actually took me to the Forest Gate on his way home. Thank you! All! You made my trip special.

First of all, the location: the house is situated just inside the Zhangjiajie Forest National Park, by the West Gate. If you plan to really see the Park, this is the best place to stay for sure since it does take a good hour from Zhangjiajie City to reach. Instead of getting up super early every day, we could easily just walk outside the house and wave for the bus to stop and let us on, then we’d drive maybe 5 minutes (if at all) and arrive at the cable car station. The facilities are amazing, too. The room was beautiful and nicely renovated and it even had one of those neat automatic toilets. The house had multiple seating areas outside, like a terrace and a pool (which was closed since it was the low season), but our absolute favorite was the patio by the river. It’s so peaceful and idyllic and really lets you appreciate the natural scenery. Secondly: the food! Delicious breakfast and dinner! Most importantly: our hosts! These people are the warmest, kindest, most gracious hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Especially Nihong. Our time in Zhangjiajie would not have been the same without her. She was our tour guide for the first two full days, showing us so much of the park we would have never seen otherwise. She took time out of her day for us for three straight days just to make sure we had the best possible experience. We learned so much about Tujia culture as well, which was so interesting. Her English is so good and she was always interested in learning more, and in turn she helped us learn a few Chinese words and phrases. And her husband drove us to the Railway Station when we had a very early train to catch, which was such a big help. We could not have been more lucky with these kind people! All in all, if you’re thinking of staying here, please do! You won’t regret it. We certainly hope we can return one day! Xiexie! Wo ai ni Zhangjiajie!
