The hotel is amazing! Very clean and cozy. Staff is extremely polite. I read in comments that it was the best guesthouse/hostel travellers stayed whenever before. So, I can confirm this! It really is!

The owner Kobayashi san and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, everything is well maintained and clean, the common room is very chill and has great view of the beautiful garden. The use of onsen is by reservation so no need to worry that you'll have to share with other guests, which is good for solo traveler. The bed and duvet are comfortable in the dorm room, had a good sleep. Too bad I only get to stay for one night and didn't get the chance to try their meal neither. The only little downside is location, need to walk uphill a bit from bus stop 宮城野橋, but shouldn't be a problem. (They also offer free shuttle from guesthouse to Gora station in the morning). Overall I had a good stay, highly recommend!

In the Shuzenji Onsen district of Izu, close to Shuzen-ji Temple, Hostel Knot has a shared lounge and a washing machine.

Highly recommend! I'm glad that I found this place. The owner makes a good family vibe in this little hostel. This is your place if you want to find somewhere affordable and social but not too loud.

Our stay at the Rustic Retreat was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had with any accommodation. 🌟 Our host went above and beyond: he picked us up at the train station, drove us to his favorite restaurant, and had prepared the most beautiful room for us. It feels incredibly authentic. For anyone staying here, I'd just say trust the process, the host is the sweetest little old man who hosts really fun karaoke evenings. It wasn't what we expected going into it but this place gave us some great laughs and memories for life.
