Situated in Banyuwangi, Mocca Guest House features free WiFi and units fitted with a kitchen, balcony and seating area. The property was built in 2012 and has air-conditioned accommodation with a patio. The guest house features garden views, a sun terrace and a 24-hour front desk. Such an incredible and friendly staff. Annie and Yati were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed meeting there family and the rooms were clean. We had jackfruit pancakes for breakfast with fresh watermelon which was delicious. The neighborhood felt safe and everyone was friendly. We walked around and tried local food. The streets can get busy but everyone was so nice and saying hello as they went by. We did the Ijen tour through them with a group of 5. We had planned to do it alone but when we compared the cost going with a group it was much more affordable. Especially because they make you go up with a guide now. The group size was not too big either. We saw some groups of over 20 people which I would not recommend. Incredible experience. We went from night time cold, to hot from hiking, to cold, to fog, to rain, to the most incredible view we have EVER seen. Our favourite thing in Bali. Even the walk back down was incredible. You also could come later in the day to miss the crowds. The blue luminescent light from the lava has not been working since an eruption in Jan. They take you for sunrise, but we barely saw it because of fog and honestly if you see Bromo sunrise this is nothing in comparison. I would go mid morning, because it get too hot but you miss the crowds and see the real blue of the crater.

Boasting views of the river, all units in the property come with private entrance and a pool with a view. Featuring a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hair dryer, units at the guest house also provide guests with free WiFi, while some rooms here will provide you with a balcony. At the guest house, all units have bed linen and towels. Wow. Everything was truly magical. The name is correct— it IS a gem!!! The moment we arrived Erika warmly greeted us with a fresh dragon fruit juice. The room is SO luxurious, the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, ever. The gardens are lush, the river is clean and the area is so spiritual and relaxing. We spent so much time at the pool swimming, reading, meditating. The owners are so lovely. Marc taught us many things about Java and about life. We appreciated his conversations. Happy to call them friends. Special shout out to young Rico!!! The chef of the house!! Amazing home cooked meals, the best we’ve had in our trip through Indonesia. Thank you Rico you smashed it and you have a great future ahead.
