Visited Akita for the Kanto Festival in Akita city. It is about 1 hour drive but was no stress. The town of Misato is famous for spring water and amazing sake.

We liked everything and had a great time in Koh's house. It's a very big place, with all the ground floor available for us, with a completely equipped kitchen, washing machine, and everything we need. There is a small shopping center in a walking distance from the house, and a few restaurants too. Koh's house is in a calm a residential neighborhood which is nice to get closer to the japanese lifestyle in a small village, but there is a train station in a walking distance from there and it's just one station distant from Akita's main station. Finally, our host Koh is a very nice person, insisting in picking us up at Akita main station upon our arrival, and leaved us back there when we left, and very helpful all the time.

Kakunodate Guest House Choux está en Senboku, a 38 km de Termas de Nyuto y a 8 min a pie de Estación de Kakunodate. Best pillow among the hostels I've stay at so far! But more importantly the owners are very kind and generous and their lovely daughter likes to be social :) Shame not to spend more time in the area. Great to have a bar to hang your clothes/coat up!

Kakunodate Guesthouse Fuga se encuentra en Senboku, a 39 km de Termas de Nyuto y a 14 min a pie de Estación de Kakunodate. The owner was amazing and thoughtful, and was eager to help with anything. they lend bicycles for free to ride to the town and also helped me call a taxi to the station. The bed was really comfortable compared to other places in japan (been here for 3 weeks now). There is also a kitchen with everything you need.

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, the common space was very pleasant, I had a good time with the guests of the restaurant and the other guests of the guesthouse. The owners nicely gave us appetizers and on the morrow I was able to use a bike for free.

It was a beautiful traditional style house . The host was extremely kind and showed us the facilities. It was a shared house but there are separate entrances so it is like having a two bedroom home to yourself.
