The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire and car hire are available at the guest house. Everything was great. Both cabins are very neat and clean and cozy with charming views on the lake. Dinner and breakfast were delightful. What makes it special is a fact that you can rent bikes and explore Polonnaruwa by yourself (or with the great host). There are many monkeys, birds and cows around. We slept like babies, no mosquitos.

The rooms are large and clean with good facilities. We had a day of torrential rain which confined us to the guesthouse. Ravi makes delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. He even made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early for elephant safari. Ravi organized bikes for us to use to see the ruins. He also set up an elephant safari with an excellent guide, Shiron. He was knowledgeable and showed us some incredible birds. He had a knack for getting us in the right spots for elephant viewing and was respectful to give the elephants space. Highly recommend a trip with him. We also recommend the morning trip as he said in the afternoons sometimes there are 200 jeeps!

The owner offered pick up upon arrival but we got off the bus very close to the property. When we left, he was very nice and drove us to the station.
