But then you notice something missing: there are no honking cars or loud noises, this is India at its most quiet. The homestay is away from the streets in a quiet beautiful area surrounded by the backwaters and swaying palm trees. Dont stay here less than 2 nights as the area is simply beautiful with lots of things to do. Grab a free bike, take your own canoe into the ricefields, get the sunrise guided kayaktour or go on a walk all right from your doorstep. Why stay in the busy city when you can stay here? The owner is brilliant, the rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. It is easily accessible by train (owner can arrange dropoff).

We had a wonderful stay here. The family is super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The arranged everything we needed (bikes, canoe-ride, taxis..) rooms are comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this place!

It's a beautiful little place surrounded by greenery just by the river. The host and his family are amazing and will do everything to make you feel comfortable. The room is very clean and spacious. The owner also let me use his bicycle and drove me around to show places. And food is delicious!

Uni and his families were amazing guest, always kind and friendly and ready to give advices, tell good anecdotes and give delicious food and marvellous tour. We loved everything about this property. Vishnu has created the most perfect space for ultimate relaxation on the beautiful canals of Munroe Island. Vishnu, his wonderful wife Pooni and their two children were incredible to us during our stay, helping us with anything we needed and showing us their island home. Pooni also is an amazing cook, providing wonderful local South Indian foods. Vishnu also took us on a sunset canal tour for multiple hours which was absolutely fantastic, with Vishnu explaining the history and traditions on the Island as we went along. Two bikes are also provided for us to ride around the Island at our own pace exploring everywhere. Overall we loved our stay, and would recommend to anyone who would like to wind down from their busy travels and relax for a few nights. With great wifi speeds, there is also the option of extending your stay and settling down with Vishnu and his family for a few months.
