The building has been beautifully renovated, everything is new and plush. I’ve never stayed in such a first class hostel. The sliding doors for privacy by each bed are just great! The owner is lovely and strives to give an excellent service. He let me check in early because I arrived by bicycle (twice in fact). I returned because I liked it so much and felt at home. The place is probably the cleanest hotel in Japan, and that’s saying something. Also, the dining room chairs are so comfortable. Highly recommend.

The owner of the guest house is an absolute legend. The house is amazing and very cosy and clean. The accomodation has a very authentic Japanese atmosphere. The owner speaks little English but nonetheless tried very hard to communicate with us even though we spoke little Japanese. We still had a great conversation with a lot of laughs. The beds were very comfy, the room was nice and the service was amazing.

It's a traditional style Japanese room. The place itself is steeped in culture with the shrine a few more staircases away. I loved the tatami mats and the smell of the wood. Had a very cosy feel to it. The view from the room is also breathtaking, with a panoramic view of the town below . It's a good place to stay as well if you want to experience a more traditional kind of lodging for a good price Showers are separate but the water pressure in the showers were very strong, surprising given how high up it is. Trust me it makes a difference after a long day Staff were very friendly and welcoming and also were able to communicate in english. The cafe at the entrance is also exceptional. The Cinnamon tea latte I had was perfect. Couldn't have asked for more on a cold rainy day

Yuji and Junko were so welcoming and helpful. We had planned to bike the Shimanami Kaido and Yuji was very responsive and helped us with bike rentals and luggage transportation. They picked us up from the ferry terminal and offered to drive us to the shops to get rain gear as there was some rain in the forecast the next day. They provided dinner recommendations and gave us little snacks to try. Junko made a delicious breakfast the next morning before our bike ride. The location is a short walk from the main shops/bike rental (~10 mins). Again they offered to drive us, but we didn't mind a short walk. Yuji and Junko are great hosts and we loved getting to know them. This was one of our favourite experiences on this trip. It felt more personal and homey than the hotels we had been staying at.

The host could not have been friendlier, showed us around the house gave us tips on where to go and where to eat. The property was spotless and the location is a dream. The host has excellent English which makes everything so much easier. I wholeheartedly recommend this location for a holiday. We will certainly be going back if we are in the region again.
