We loved our stay in Wakka. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. It is well located in the south part of Aso's caldeira and a good spot to explore the area if you have a car. Despite being quite deeply hidden in the nature of Aso, Wakka was quite easy to find. Instructions send ahead to find the route were clear, there was little signs showing the way and the Google Maps location was correct. The room was clean, the bed confortable and with a little terrace to go with it! The hosts were very nice and even offered us a snack for the road after check-out! If you want a very peaceful and authentic experience of Aso, surrounded by trees, i recommend you stay at Wakka!!!

Dyeing and Hostel Nakashimaya - Female Only se encuentra en Kumamoto, a 1,7 km de Castillo de Kumamoto y a 1,9 km de Residencia Hosokawa Gyobutei, y ofrece alojamiento con terraza. This is hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Genuinely, I would pick this hostel over a 5-star hotel any day. The room is large, comfy and well-equipped with a small table, tissues, travel guides etc. I LOVED the Kumamon dotted around the hotel, especially the Kumamon key chain and the Kumamon that will sit in the receptionist seat. Everything is so clean and tidy! The decorations of the hostel blew my mind, I genuinely had never seen such exquisite interior designs. The hostel even had a huge powder room, perfect for us ladies, and a huge common area with so much manga, a massage chair, games and even PCs! I would return to Kumamoto just to stay at this hostel again.

The owners were very kind and generous! We stayed during the heavy rain and floods, so the owners drove us to the convenience store to buy food. The house is very cosy and comfortable!

Omusubi share house JAPANEZE STYLE ofrece alojamiento en Mamihara, a 50 km de Lake Ezu. We were slightly sceptical about this place as it only had two reviews, but we are so glad we booked. This was a great guesthouse with traditional Japanese rooms in a gorgeous village. The host was incredibly helpful (even walking us to a local restaurant to make sure we got a space as everywhere was fully booked). We felt incredibly welcome, had comfy beds, a lovely room, and everything we needed.
