I came to Magnetic Island for 4 nights 25 years ago. It's definitely magnetic and despite having to leave for work a couple of times in the early days, I found a way to live here forever. I live and work on Maggie and love the relaxed outdoor lifestyle. People sometimes ask if I get bored - never! There's so much more to do than in a city - even the same beautiful walking trail presents different views and experiences every time. There's still things I want to do that I haven't got round to, stand-up paddle boarding is next for me! I love meeting people who are taking their first trip to the island and experiencing just how much it offers, the secret is getting out as the island gets busier, yet you can still go to a stunning deserted beach and see nobody else there, no wonder it's magnetic! Well-equipped, fully air-conditioned holiday home with swimming pool close to shops, cafes, pub, RSL, Geoffrey Bay beach and beautiful Alma Bay beach. Free Starlink fast wifi. Brookehaven House is a spacious house with a large swimming pool. Upstairs is the main living area with kitchen, dining, living and balcony, plus three bedrooms, one with ensuite and the main bathroom with double shower. Bedroom One: Queen bed, ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet, vanity) Bedroom Two: King bed or twin singles - this room will be made up as a king unless twin room is requested on booking. Bedroom Three: Two single beds Main bathroom: Double shower, toilet, vanity Outside, there is an undercover outdoor area, with a third bathroom, external to the house, ideal for when you're using the pool. The house is fully air-conditioned (split systems) with ceiling fans and opening windows. Guests have exclusive use of the whole house (except the storage rooms on the ground level) and swimming pool. Please note that there are three units behind the house. We are careful to choose whom we accommodate to avoid disruption between the guests in the house and the residents in the units behind. The tenants in the units are quiet individuals who will cause you no bother. We would appreciate if children staying in the house are not allowed to roam around the units. The washing machine near the external bathroom is for the use of house guests as is the washing line in the games room area. There is a clothes dryer. House guests have exclusive use of the shower and toilet in the pool area and the undercover games area next to the pool.

Arcadia is a village-like leafy suburb with a few cafes, shops and pub, as well as the beautiful Alma Bay and also Geoffrey Bay. There is a dive shop where you can also hire snorkelling gear. There are residential homes in the street and as such this is a no-party property and we would expect guests to respect the neighbourhood and take their fun inside after 10pm. There is a bus stop nearby on Hayles Avenue and the buses travel regularly in both directions to the ferry terminal, Picnic, Nelly and Horseshoe Bay. It's a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to Nelly Bay on the walkway over the hill to the IGA supermarket. Hire cars are available at the ferry terminal on arrival, although it is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during school holidays.
