Quillan is situated on the banks of the river Aude and white water activities take place around the town. My place is in Cathar country, close to Carcassonne, the Pyrenees, lakes and rivers and ski fields. It's a little over an hour to the Mediterranean beaches and history at Perpignan. There are great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the neighbourhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). There are festivals throughout the year. There are numerous beautiful walks and horse riding, cycling, white water sports, châteaux and mountains. You can ski 35 minutes from the house in the winter and swim in lakes nearby during the summer. Just opened in July 2017 are two new artificial lakes for swimming and fishing, just a five minute drive from our house. Carcassonne, Toulouse and Perpignan are less than 90 minutes. There is car parking across the street from the house, and although the road past the house can get busy during the day, double glazing throughout reduces the road noise.
