From the house, continuing downhill, you can reach the lake and the small village of Carate Urio, known for its neat little streets, old mule tracks that descend from the mountain to the lake and Mediterranean vegetation. A grocery store, a bar and two restaurants are a few minutes' walk away. The place is ideal for relaxing, eating in romantic lake-view restaurants, reaching beaches and lidos (the beach at Laglio and the lido at Moltrasio are just a few minutes' drive away) and visiting the villas on the Lario by boat, car or bus. Near the house, there is the Via Verde trail, a well-known and popular trekking itinerary of the lower Lario.
