This place is superb. It was the best sleep in 5 weeks in Japan, the outdoors private thermal bath was excellent, the food was beautiful, they accomadated me being vegetarian. The onsens were great, outdoor ones being hotter than indoors. The national park it's in is beautiful. The staff are amazing, just delightful.

Lovely infrastructure, excellent amenities and well maintained. Loved every bit of the stay! Barbecue setup was on point. I would love to come back here again once it starts to snow. Our stay was exceptional thanks to the hotel team. We came to celebrate the birthday of one of our own, and the staff went out of their way to make it incredible. Special mention: when booking, we asked if it was possible to prepare a birthday cake. The hotel staff went out of their way to deliver a magnificent cake for our meal. Overall, the hotel's facilities are very pleasant, the rooms very clean and the staff very attentive. If we ever come back to Nikkō, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again! We can only recommend the hotel!

The house is big with many rooms and beds. It’s a bit old. The twin hot baths are in a separate room. We could not find the light and heater in that room. These twin hot baths cannot be used after 9:30pm. The time restriction limits the number of people who can enjoy it, especially if you have BBQ which has to be finished by 9pm. The place outside the house where you have BBQ is not well decorated.
