Fine Irish cuisine is on the menu at Castlelough Restaurant which overlooks the gardens. the location at the side of the lake was wonderful, lovely walk to Muckross abbey and Muckross house. The hotel is amazing, open fires, great atmosphere with old style furniture, sitting areas, bar. Grounds are lovely, I saw some deer. Its worth having a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and had some other meals there as well which were also good.

The hosts at this property are so kind and interesting to speak to. If you are in the area there is no other place you should stay!

Guests can make use of the picnic area or the terrace, or enjoy views of the sea and mountain. The place was wonderful, an old house on a panoramic site over the harbour. Owners very friendly with the passion to maintain this place with love. They were very friendly we had the feeling to be at home
