Our objectives for the trip were (1) to learn more about Japan beyond Tokyo's business districts and (2) to do some skiing. Objective #2 was met: we had four very good days of skiing, in various conditions. As for objective #1, Komatsuya helped exceed our expectations: David (the owner) kindly drove us around wherever we needed to go, Izumi-san cooked wonderful Japanese food for breakfast and dinner, and Yukiko-san introduced us to the local attractions and helped us with the schedule and reservations. The room was clean and spacious and the onsen was an outstanding way to wrap up our skiing days. But beyond all this, we felt like we gained a new family in Japan. We will remember our stay at Komatsuya very fondly because of David and his team and, should we come back to ski in Japan again, I can't imagine staying anyplace else.

The owner Ai is one of the kindest, coolest humans I've met in Japan. As a solo traveller I couldn't have asked for a better place to base myself to enjoy the snow and Myoko. Baco Myoko has an unassuming facade hiding a relaxed, comfortable haven to kick back in after riding the surrounding mountains. Ai has great knowledge of the area when it comes to eating and good advice on mountains to ski for the current conditions. A great place to meet people if adventuring alone, private onsens, shuttles to the mountains and great breakfasts are all part of the package.I know how hard it is to sort through all the accomodation options in myoko, trust me and stay with Ai for your trip. You won't regret it

Myoko Forest Lodge está en Myoko y cuenta con vistas al jardín, jardín, salón de uso común, restaurante y bar. En el lodge, tanto el wifi como el parking privado son gratis. The staff are all awesome and they care deeply about the Forest Lodge and their guest experience! The rooms are wonderful, the common areas are super comfortable, with an updated but traditional feel. Beautiful drying room and tuning area in the basement, and everyone is there to ski/ride so you'll get solid tips. They're happy to give you a lift to/from the resort if you don't have a car. The view from the private onsen was really wonderful. Recommended in Myoko!

Dave and Lisa are so easy to deal with and made us feel so welcome that we turned our 2 day trip into 7! They made our trip so convenient from picking us up and shuttling us to/from skiing and the train station, to booking us suppers at the best restaurants, spas and onsens and day trips. Do yourself a favour and stay here, you will not regret it!

Brilliant location, awesome breakfasts, fantastic facilitlies! Michael and Tamami were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful making our stay the best it could be!
