The staff was the nicest I have ever encountered tending to all of our needs (a couple and a 2-year-old kid plus a grandma). Both the dinner and breakfast included with the room were delicious and very nicely presented and it was lovely not to have to look for food after a long day at Chichen. The included parking right next to the hotel was also very convenient. The building is old, so do not expect modern luxury, but you can't beat the location right off the main plaza, plus the A/C works just fine and the garden more than makes up for that.

I stayed in room 6 which is the last one on the ground floor and loved it. Beautifully decorated and with a calming view to the garden and all greenery outside, it was very peaceful. The bed was very comfy, the AC was blowing cold fresh air, and I rested well overnight. I decided to dine in the hotel restaurant, and oh boy what a lovely surprise. The menu consists of Spanish classics, tortilla espanola, pulpo alla gallega, croquettes etc. Everything was well executed in terms of quality, flavor and plating. I did enjoy my free margarita too :) Breakfast was included and also very good, with many options to chose from, well cooked and presented.

Complete with a private bathroom fitted with a shower and free toiletries, all rooms at the hotel have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and some rooms also boast a terrace. All units have a safety deposit box.

Hotel Boutique Casa Xaan offers a hot tub. Mario is the best! Good host and accommodating. He gave us great suggestions to do and eat around town. A bit run down community but the facilities are in beautiful and excellent condition.

Providing a restaurant, the property also has a bar, as well as a hot tub. Certain rooms at the property include a balcony with pool view. Just by the beach. So beautiful!!! The owner (?) was soooo friendly. Cute little village. So relaxing! 🧘🏻‍♀️

The hotel itself is lovely, spacious rooms, relaxing pool and hammock area, beautiful dining area with a kitchen you can use any time to make a drink or use dishes etc. The breakfasts are delicious - wonderful granola, yogurt and lots of fruit, and a small cooked breakfast too - different every day! But it's the staff that really stand out! They are exceptional! They arranged a private driver and guide to take us to Uxmal one day. Unfortunately my husband had a lot of pain with his Achilles tendon. They arranged for a physiotherapist to come to the hotel and treat him, twice, while we were there! Talk about service! We highly recommend this hotel and would return in a heartbeat if we go to Merida again!

We were glad to be able to leave our car in the enclosed secure courtyard at the front of the house. We were happy to find the home very clean. The living area is very large ..as are the 2 , upper floor, bedrooms. Adequate fresh bottled water was left for our use in the kitchen. The wifi was good and the power stayed on. The house is enclosed with an 8 ft. wall , so felt secure . Beds were comfortable ..and the master ensuite was nice too.
