Grab a table at the cafe outside the Adlon and just sit for a bit with a drink and a snack - or have a meal; the food is great. Read up on the history and pay attention to the lines of the Cold War era walls in this area. - There's a great photo just inside the Adlon entrance that has the disabled ramp to really help you see where the walls were with relation to the Gate.Guest review byAngelaUnited States

We aren't into shopping but love food and the sites so for us this was a great place. The Japanese restaurant attached to the hotel is absolutely incredible, If you go there you will need cash. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an incredibly friendly receptionist who even upgraded our room, such a lovely gesture. The room was spacious, very comfortable, with a large bed, quality toiletries, and a great shower. The location was perfect: just a short walk to the Brandenburg Gate (where many tours start), the Berlin Wall, Berlin Mall, and plenty of nearby restaurants. Hotel is right outside Friedrichstrasse station. Very clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Dedicated Concierge for any questions that you might have about the hotel and anything else really, so you didn't have to queue at reception.
