The room was nice and clean. The bedding was exceptional. I loved the hardness of mattress and pillow, and the sheet was so smooth. I slept like a baby for two nights. I enjoyed complementary alcohol and coffee at the lounge on 3F. They had a fire pit and you can enjoy BBQ marshmallows there!

The hotel was beautiful, our room was spacious and clean. The location was also perfect - a metro stop away from the Railway station and a walking distance from the city center and many tourist attractions. We were highly impressed by the kindness of the hotel staff and management. We had additional requests about the organization of our trip and they were willing to advise and help us. We sincerely serve our thankfulness! : )

The hotel gave us an incredible experience! The open-air public bathtub with a view of mountains and the shrine is something you need to experience yourself! After the bathing, there are popsicles and hot/cold drinks available for free.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

    You can visit it at day and at night.

    You can visit it at day and at night. Is like two different places with different experiences to experiment. You can find local restaurants and little Izakaya where you can eat the local cuisine. If you go, most of them only speak Japanese so you better know your way around the language. Or you can go with a guide. Eat in the river banks to enjoy a peaceful and picturesque experience.
