SingaporeAbsolutely beautiful small property, feels intimate and Japanese (not anonymous). We stayed in the luxury corner suite and it was gorgeous. The in-room onsen was huge and such a wonderful treat to soak in. Views out to the greenery were cleverly framed. The lounge area was cosy and comfortable, with complimentary drinks offered in the afternoon.
The real icing on the cake was the quality of the meals. Every single meal, even the breakfasts, were exquisite and delicious and deserving of awards themselves. It was akin to staying in a luxurious boutique hotel with a Michelin star kaiseki restaurant at your doorstep.

After staying in tokyo with small rooms, the size of this room felt very luxe. Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, the room has all bits and bobs you could need. The hotel is on a hill, takes about 20 minutes to walk down into town to tobu nikko. It was also 20 mins to walk to places like shinkyo bridge and Toshogu temples. was very easy to get a taxi (800yen) from tobu nikko Station back up the hill to the hotel too. would stay here again.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom

There isn't a picture of the second room (a bedroom with a queen sized comfy bed) on booking.com (negligence on the hotel's part) but I assure you there is one, and it's quite good. The space is old and a bit worn but charming and the staff is great. It's a hotel with a feeling of a hostel for older people as there is a lounge for watching TV where you can meet and chat with other visitors, and tables where they serve breakfast and dinner.
