GermanyThe facility is very new and modern, looking really nice. The staff is extraordinary and amazing! The y carry the bags for you to your room, you get room cleaning and water bottles every day. Scooter rental is also possible and fair priced! They pick you up and return you to the pier for free, which is also amazing. All in all, the staff is really exceptional and I can only highly recommend this place. It’s modern, nice, extremely clean and has a very good location with some good restaurants around. Everything else can be reached with a scooter. Would definitely come again if prices remain stable. Thank you very much for hosting me on Koh Tao!

GermanyWe had the most amazing time at Shiva Lodge! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and we felt very much at home. Will definitely come back and we really loved all the little details (Books on the nightstands, Snack bar and free coffee) and honestly the lodges are an architectural masterpiece! ☺️ Thanks for everything

IrelandI had a wonderful stay at the Mar Ozo Hotel. The girls at reception were so nice, kind, and extremely helpful, which made check-in a very pleasant experience. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, with a really nice bathroom and very comfortable beds. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and there was always hot water available. I also appreciated the little details like water in the fridge and being well taken care of while waiting for the room to be ready. Overall, an excellent stay – highly recommended!

Perfect for scuba divers experienced or not does not matter . They will teach you all . You can even make your license there and at best price.. Cheap but very Clean rooms with AC and wonderful beach bar playing good music with happy hours from 3-6pm (GT / vodka soda for 80)
BBQ’s every Friday (buffet form) 150 baht
Breakfast for 150 baht+ (little more expensive than if you go out )
Sandwich lady right behind corner , best and cheapest brekkie around, and they have all kind of food as well (yellow noodles highly recommended!!)

Shark Bay
While it may be tricky to get to – the dirt road is windy and steep – it’s well worth the effort to make the trek to Shark Bay. As the name suggests, it’s one of the best places in Koh Tao to see blacktip and whitetip sharks, as well as a whole host of other creatures. Just watch out for sea urchins on the seabed, as it’s quite shallow for quite a way out into the water.

Loved this beach, fine and white.
Loved this beach, fine and white. It does get busy and a bit noisy with boats towards end of the day coming in for the clear warm waters to snorkel. It was worth it though. I stayed at the Rocky Resort with a beautiful view from my balcony, where I spent hours drinking in the view and all the tropical sounds. We only stayed one night but really loved it. Attached to the resort (though I don’t think it’s officially part of it) there’s a lovely little restaurant. Shark Bay and the pier are just a few minutes away by scooter (the pier is even walkable). Compared to other hillside options, this location is definitely preferable, as you avoid steep, winding, and potentially dangerous roads.
