Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. This is a solid choice in Cahuita. Alberto the host is a super friendly stand up guy who comes with homemade breakfast every morning and never hesitated to help out and give good advise. He even called the airline for us to talk to them in Spanish when our bag was lost. The houses are simple but clean and cosy. We saw sloths nearby, hummingbirds and butterflies in the garden and heard the howler monkeys all the time. Close to a nice beach that is good for walks in the mornings and also a great restaurant within walking distance.

I wish I could extend my stay in Cahujita and enjoy this little paradise. I had my blur house in the middle of the jungle, where you can connect with the nature and wildlife but at the same time being so close to the Playa Negra (7-8 min) and to the main street (5 min) where you can find all the restaurants, bars and shops. The room was very spacious, clean, with the nice terrace and hammock and kind and very helpful staff. I highly recommend this beautiful place and hope to come back again! Thank you!

Very nice bungalow with full Equipment kitchen and big bathroom. Silent place and a nice garden where you can see different kinds of animal in the morning when you have breakfast on the terrace. The owner life there and when you need anything the help you with all. It Was one of the best place in CR where we stay. Chauita is a traditionell place and ypu have nice Restaurants next to the bungalow orjust 15min the walk to the Center. Puerto Viejo is much expensive and to bussy with a lot of people. Good for visit for one day.

The breakfast was great. The owner/sister also cooked me a great dinner..IWas impressed. I was the only one there for dinner and we had a great conversation ..i had owned a hotel in a special place and was fascinated that she ran this place..you gotta go to understand
