Jasmin and Sebastian were lovely hosts and made our stay at Casa Cactus in Buenavista unforgettable. Everything is to like about Casa Cactus, from the carefully decorated room, to the food that is creative, delicious and fresh, to the garden with beautiful plants, a pool to refresh and attentive staff. To make the most of Casa Cactus I recommend having your own car (although the hosts can help with arranging a taxi). The place is perfect if you are looking to relax, lay back and enjoy nature, but also be able to get to more lively places like Bacalar which is 20-30 mins by car. Jasmin and Sebastian made everything to ensure our stay would be perfect and gave us great advice on things to do and visit to get a real authentic experience. (They suggested a nearby spot for a beach day on the lagoon. The spot was secluded, and felt very intimate and private, with the jungle in the background, it was a bless compared to the crowds in Bacalar. Furthermore Buenavista is a perfect spot to visit Bacalar, but also other attractions nearby like Mahahual, a town on the Caribbean side, the ruins of Chacchoben or doing guided jungle tour.) Be aware there's not much choice for eating out in Buenavista, but you won't need it with the delicious food prepared by Jasmin. We preferred having dinner at Casa Cactus because of how good it was. Me and my girlfriend had the best stay here and would definitely recommend it.

SHANTI SURF CAMP se encuentra en El Paredón Buena Vista, a 2 min a pie de Playa El Paredón, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis, aire acondicionado y acceso a un jardín con piscina al aire libre. Very clean!! The whole facility is a slice of paradise with beautiful flowers and fruiting trees around the pool. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. Every room is unique with different art in each one. We felt safe at Shanti. Also, the ocean is only a short 5 minute walk!

Posada Woochooch tiene vistas a la montaña, wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. Está en San Juan La Laguna, a 25 km de Volcán de Atitlán. Juan and his wife were amazing people they feed us with the traditional tamal on Xmas we were berry thankful and happy we will go back to their home again thank you

Casa Austera está a 4 min a pie de Playa El Paredón y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, servicio de masajes y cocina compartida. Hay wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Nico is a supportive, helpful and great host as well as his place. Nice location walking distance from the beach. I definitely recommend to stay here.

Azul Nomeolvides Bacalar - Guests Only se encuentra en Bacalar y ofrece wifi gratis, jardín, zona de playa privada y terraza. We stayed for 3 nights in one of the direct laguna view cabañas and enjoyed tremendously everything: from the hosts, Bernie and Sam who were very welcoming and helpful, to the amazing views and setting, the confort of the rooms to the very nice and healthy food available throughout the day. We liked the place so much that we ended up staying there throughout our stay, just enjoying the beauty of the place. A true slow living experience!

Casa Maya está a pocos pasos de Playa de la ribera del río Dulce y ofrece alojamiento con restaurante, jardín, zona de playa privada y bar. Se ofrece wifi gratis. Beautiful property, peaceful, kayaks to rent, helpful owners, a darling child to play with if you want to, very few mosquitoes and no bugs, a restaurant with decent food. Staying on the river instead of in the chaotic town of Livingston felt like a better experience.

Cabanas Jaalkab está a 13 min a pie de Playa de Chelem y ofrece bicicletas gratis y piscina al aire libre, así como alojamiento con aire acondicionado, terraza y wifi gratis. Nos encantó nuestra estancia. Las cabañas son auténticas, cómodas y bien equipadas, con una cama grande, nevera y hasta una hamaca para relajarse. El recinto está muy bien cuidado, con una piscina y espacios agradables para descansar. Pero, sin duda, lo mejor fue la atención de Doña Belinda. Desde el primer momento fue increíblemente amable y atenta, ofreciéndonos incluso la posibilidad de volver después del check-out para disfrutar de la piscina. Ese trato tan cálido hace que la experiencia sea aún mejor. Recomendamos este lugar a quienes buscan tranquilidad, naturaleza y una hospitalidad excepcional. ¡Volveríamos sin dudarlo!
