A unique place set high on a cliff in the Vayots Dzor region. The views from the terrace are spectacular on the Smbataberd Fortress and a short walk to the Tsakhats Kar Monastry largely preserved with large khachkars. Sapsan lodge is a pearl to stay.

Such a beautiful location in the nature, I took a walk on the nearby hill every evening with beautiful view on the valley and the fortress. Everything renovated with a lot of love for details. The family is very hospitable and flexible, the mother prepares the best Gata and lovely breakfast and teaches you about Armenian culture and tradition. Everything very clean and comfortable beds! Will come back.

You will here as at your home because of the hosts) They are very supportive and the host can drive around too, wide range of house made alcohols from fruits, very tasty breakfast and comfortable beds.

Quiet large room. Very friendly host Samvel met us. He cooked a great breakfast every morning. Upon arrival, the host treated us to a welcome drink and fruit. Samvel gave us many useful tips for continuing our journey. We stayed here for two days. Highly recommended!

lovely house, beautiful view of the mountain and the valley. It is an authentic Armenian house, the owners live down the street and are helpful and hospitable. IDeal starting point to visit Tatev, Noravank and to take beautiful mountain walks.

The guesthouse really felt like home - and the hosts did everything to make you feel welcome! Upon arrival I was showered with fresh fruit from the garden, treats and tea/coffee. Dinner (ordered separately) was very tasty and breakfast as well. All the salads, the yoghurt and the honey was own produce from the garden. The room was tidy and comfortable.

Location is great with excellent views over the mountains. The pool was a good refresher after a long and dusty day. Nice restaurant and good breakfast.

This place is a paradise that you don't hope to find in Armenia! The location is stunning - it is quiet, you are surrounded by nature, and it is beautiful scenery throughout the day. The facilities are spotless clean and everything is taken care with love, every small detail, everywhere you look. Every decoration is interesting, and the interior is very unique. We didn't expect it to be this great, but hands down, this is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed anywhere on our travels. The kitchen has everything you need. The bathrooms are very clean and new. Towels and sheets smell amazing. There are plenty of areas where to hang around inside, and they are all beautiful. We especially loved the swing above the place - what a perfect spot. The owner - another level of hospitality. He was always very attentive and making sure you were fine. We were gifted by the most delicious strawberries and pastries from his wife, and we were allowed to eat the berries that grew there. Not to mention, we shared coffee and nuts together and watched the most beautiful thunderstorm we have ever seen. We decided to stay extra (3rd) night, and needed to load our groceries, so he took us to the shop and back in the cleanest car we have ever seen 😍 The kittens in the yard are so lovely, and the husky dog Taiga is very sweet also. For the third night, we moved to the smaller house that is designed by the owner, and it is so authentic and cosy, you feel like you are staying in the countryside with 5 star hotel facilities. I could go on and on about this place, you have to come and experience it by yourself. This is not to be missed if you are in the area. We had a perfect stay from the welcome until good bye the other day. Both hosts were very nice and helpful, whatever we asked, it was provided. We had delicious dinner, home made wine and breakfast. The house was very clean, surroundings and the street very peaceful. If we ever return to Areni, we would definitely stay there again. Thank you very much - Andy & Silvia
