Mariam was the star of this stay. A wonderful host that shared so much precious insight on Armenian culture, history and traditions. We chatted forever! The property is secluded and quiet which is exactly what we needed. There are a couple of rough patches driving up and the last few meters before the property is a dirt road but don’t let anyone scare you because it’s very easy to reach even with a very low clearance car as our rental. The food prepared for us for both dinner and breakfast was simply amazing. Tasty and earthy and home grown. Too bad we stayed only one night.

Gnishik is literally right at the end of the road, you can go no further, but the Eco Lodge certainly makes the journey worthwhile. The gent who let us in and gave us the keys was very pleasant and helpful and communication before arrival was excellent. It was made clear that the location was remote and that we would have to bring our food and drink with us. This was fine and the shared kitchen was very well equipped. We had a lovely en suite room upstairs with wonderful views from our balcony, especially of the beautiful rose garden in the back garden. We were also lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. There was a problem with the WiFi in the early evening, but it was quickly resolved and worked very well for us after that; not good enough to stream, but perfectly well for browsing, emails, etc. We parked in the drive in front of the Lodge, but there are zero security concerns. If you get the chance to visit, then we strongly suggest that you do. The drive south from Lake Sevan is truly spectacular. The last few kilometres of road were pot holed and slow going, but perfectly accessible if you drive slowly. Overall, this is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and relax and we loved our visit. Very highly recommended.

We loved our stay here! The cabin was super cosy and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay as a family. The hosts are lovely and helpful. You are surrounded by a beautiful orchard and a short walk along a steam will take you to the nearby town. The 800 year old bridge is also only a short walk away. The freshly cooked food is delicious- including fresh eggs right from the chickens on sight. Our daughter loved playing with the kittens and there is plenty to do to keep a child busy and content. A really relaxing place to refuel and a great place to stay if you want to visit the nearby Noravank monastery, Areni cave and local wineries.

As a wine lover, I was especially excited to explore this area and taste some delicious Armenian wines. We planned our stay here to celebrate my birthday, and everything turned out just right. The setting was lovely, the room was spacious and clean, and everything matched the description in the listing. The homemade breakfast was fresh and satisfying — the perfect way to start the day. This guesthouse is one of the best we stayed in during our trip to Armenia. The people who work there run a winery, as one of the guys explained to us. We had the opportunity to taste their homemade wine and products during dinner and breakfast. The dishes they offered us were delicious and very tasty. The rooms were modern and simple. The common outside space was big and perfect for relaxing, thanks also to Choko, their sweet dog. And the position is perfect for visiting Areni-1 cave and Noravank monastery, two pearls in during our trip.
